Official Demon Slayer Replica Sword Announced

Fans of Koyoharu Gotouge's Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba will soon be able to own their own replica of Zenitsu's Nichirin Blade.

As reported by Crunchyroll, Bandai Namco's Proplica brand, which creates and distributes life-like replicas and true to form props of popular anime character accessories, have produced a replica of fan-favorite Zenitsu's deadly blade. The replica sword has fine detailing along both the hilt and blade and comes with its own stand. Moreover, it features built-in speakers; whenever the sword is released from its scabbard or swung, the motion triggers voice lines from Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba.

Originally released in April 2019, Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba quickly became a modern anime classic with a large, passionate fanbase. In fact, when its sequel film -- Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba the Movie: Mugen Train -- was released, it earned enough revenue to become the highest-grossing anime film of all time, beating anime juggernauts like Studio Ghibli's Spirited Away and Princess Mononoke.

The replica Nichirin Blade isn't the only thing fans have to be excited about. As previously reported, a new Demon Slayer-themed attraction is coming to Universal Studios, and the anime's second season will release in late 2021 with a confirmed simulcast.

Pre-0rders for the replica sword will open Aug. 3 in Japan through the Premium Bandai store, with pricing set at ¥13,200 (roughly $120). The sword is expected to be released in December.

The first season of Demon Slayer: Kimetsu No Yaiba is available for streaming on Netflix, Hulu and Funimation.
