WARNING: The following contains spoilers for Zombie Land Saga Revenge Episode 10, "The SAGA of How These Zombies Will Get Their Revenge," now streaming on Crunchyroll.
Zombie Land Saga Revenge Episode 10 spends its first half revisiting Franchouchou's disastrous EFS performance that got the zombie idols into debt between seasons, while its second half is all setup and cliffhangers for future episodes. The first half doesn't offer much in the way of new insight, and the episode as a whole is far from the show's funniest or most entertaining, but it reveals what exactly Franchouchou's "revenge" is going to look like.
For most of the season, "revenge" has been treated as a generalized concept of coming back from failures. Kotaro's new "revenge concert" plan takes this to the next level -- he's booked Franchouchou to perform at the EFS stadium again on the one-year anniversary of their failed concert at the same venue. It's a show of fearlessness in the face of potential disaster and a direct chance for the group to prove how much they've grown in the past year. Kotaro presents the idea passionately enough that the zombie girls get on board despite some very reasonable objections.
As Kotaro visits the stadium, he's confronted by Okoba, the journalist piecing together the evidence of the Franchouchou girls being zombies. By now, Okoba has identified every single one of the girls except for Yugiri, and he's threatening to publish these findings. He disapproves of Kotaro profiting off of the dead, and after "The Saga Incident" two-parter, it's easy to draw both visual and narrative parallels between him and Kiichi's ultimate enemy Itou.
The potential reaction to Okoba's article is far from the only obstacle that Franchouchou's ultimate "revenge" plot faces. According to the immortal necromancer bartender, there are supernatural forces afoot trying to keep Franchouchou and Saga itself down. It's prophesized that Saga will face a great cataclysm in the new Reiwa era, and this "curse" on the prefecture is apparently responsible for each of the zombie girls' deaths.
At the end of Episode 10, it looks like this cataclysm might be starting -- all of Saga experiences a blackout and a storm damages the girls' house. Following a very expository episode, this cliffhanger makes it look like Zombie Land Saga Revenge is building to an intense ending.
New episodes of Zombie Land Saga Revenge premiere Thursdays on Crunchyroll.
