May 2021 is in full swing as theaters begin to steadily reopen and summer television season looms. This week saw new footage for Venom: Let There Be Carnage, Lupin and The Green Knight, among other things.
Here are all the biggest trailers, promos and teasers released the first full week of May 2021 for television and film.
Batwoman
As Batwoman continues to contend with the new street drug Snakebite flooding the streets of Gotham City, Ryan Wilder also faces the police's unjust treatment of the city's Black community in an upcoming episode of the Arrowverse series. With both Ryan and Luke Fox mistreated by the police, Batwoman follows Kung Fu and The Falcon and the Winter Soldier in addressing racial injustice and police misconduct.

Charmed
As the Charmed Ones continue to face uncertainty if they will remain together, the sisters discover a letter their mother sent to them decades prior to help them embrace their magical destiny. And while the long-lost letter holds answers to some of the sisters' most burning questions, Harry grapples with whether he should give up his immortality in order to keep the Power of Three together for the greater good.
Charmed stars Sarah Jeffery, Madeleine Mantock, Melonie Diaz, Rupert Evans, Jordan Donica, Poppy Drayton, Mareya Salazar and JJ Hawkins. New episodes air Fridays at 8 p.m. ET/PT on The CW.
Eden
Netflix's next original anime series Eden premieres later this month, introducing audiences to the eponymous, futuristic city populated entirely by sentient robots. In this world ruled by artificial intelligence, the last human -- a girl named Sara -- awakens from stasis and receives a set of surrogate robotic parents as she explores this brave, new world across a four-part story.
Directed by Yasuhiro Irie, Eden premieres May 27 on Netflix.
The Forever Purge
The Purge's core concept has always been relatively simple: For 24 hours each year, all laws are lifted and society descends into violent chaos to indulge in their darkest desires before returning to normal once the extra-judicial time limit has expired. In the fifth, and purported final, film in the franchise, the aptly titled The Forever Purge, has a group of marauders upend the tradition by continuing the chaos beyond the time limit to target their prey.
Directed by Everardo Gout and written by James DeMonaco, The Forever Purge stars Ana de la Reguera, Tenoch Huerta, Josh Lucas, Cassidy Freeman and Will Patton. The film releases July 2 in theaters.
Friends: The Reunion
It's been 17 years since the enormously popular sitcom Friends made its last bow with its tenth and final season on NBC, with a long-awaited reunion special coming to HBO Max this month. A brief teaser shows all six stars of the reunited main cast walking down a studio backlot, with the special poised to bring back a whole myriad of guest stars and returning major characters. After facing significant delays from the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, principal photography on the special officially wrapped last month.
Premiering May 27 on HBO Max, the Friends: The Reunion features the return of the original main cast of Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox, Lisa Kudrow, Matthew Perry, Matt LeBlanc and David Schwimmer.
The Green Knight
A classic Arthurian legend is brought back to life for a new generation with The Green Knight, coming to theaters this July. As Sir Gawain, one of the most valiant of the Knights of the Round Table, seeks out the mythical Green Knight and his able to land a blow on him in single combat, he has a full year to prepare for a rematch, with the verdant warrior now seeking Gawain's head.
Written and directed by David Lowery, The Green Knight stars Dev Patel, Alicia Vikander, Joel Edgerton, Sarita Choudhury, Sean Harris, Kate Dickie, Barry Keoghan and Ralph Ineson. The film arrives in theaters July 30.
The Hitman's Wife's Bodyguard
The action-comedy film The Hitman's Wife's Bodyguard reunites Ryan Reynolds, Samuel L. Jackson and Salma Hayek in a sequel to 2017's The Hitman's Bodyguard. Reynolds' Michael Bryce continues to protect volatile couple Darius and Sonia Kincaid, taking on a new partnership with the two at the worst possible time: When an employer-mandated sabbatical forces Michael to refrain from using weapons, making keeping the alive all the more challenging.
Directed by Patrick Hughes, The Hitman's Wife's Bodyguard stars Ryan Reynolds, Samuel L. Jackson, Salma Hayek, Antonio Banderas, Morgan Freeman, Frank Grillo, Caroline Goodall, Rebecca Front, Gabriella Wright, Alice McMillan, Kristofer Kamiyasu, Tom Hopper, Blake Ritson and Richard E. Grant. The film arrives in theaters June 16.
Legends of Tomorrow
With Legends of Tomorrow back for its sixth season, the Arrowverse series prepares to provide its own riff on the reality competition series The Masked Singer -- and there will be cosmic implications. As the song contest escalates, alien invaders arrive to menace Earth with a full-scale invasion while the team continues to scour space and time for aliens threatening the timeline.
DC's Legends of Tomorrow stars Caity Lotz, Dominic Purcell, Nick Zano, Tala Ashe, Matt Ryan, Olivia Swann, Jes Macallan, Adam Tsekhman, Shayan Sobhian, Lisseth Chavez and Raffi Barsoumian. Season 6 airs Sundays at 8 p.m. ET/PT on The CW.
Lupin
The acclaimed French-language Netflix series Lupin returns for the second half of its inaugural season next month, continuing the capers of master thief Assane Diop. Assane is pursued by the police across France while seeking to rescue his kidnapped son Raoul from the crime lord Pellegrini and expose Pellegrini to the public as the villain he truly is. Premiering this past January, Lupin has become Netflix's most popular original series worldwide, with over 70 million households streaming the show.
Lupin stars Omar Sy, Vincent Londez, Ludivine Sagnier, Hervé Pierre, Soufiane Guerrab, Etan Simon, Shirine Boutella, Antoine Gouy and Clotilde Hesme. The first part of Season 1 is now streaming on Netflix, with Part 2 premiering June 11.
The Nevers
As The Nevers reaches the halfway point for its first season, the mystery behind the true nature of Amalia True is poised to be solved. Standing separate from the rest of the Touched, Amalia's mission took a turn when a coded message in Mary's song visibly triggers something within her. And as Lavinia expresses her own suspicions about Amalia's intentions, the Touched may quickly find themselves divided.

Untitled Horror Movie
Taking obvious inspiration from current events, the upcoming flick Untitled Horror Movie has six actors convene over Zoom when the pandemic has them lose out on job offers as Hollywood productions are suspended worldwide. And as this fan-favorite cast attempts to film a makeshift horror movie over their phones through video chat, they discover they have accidentally summoned a malevolent entity that incites bloody violence.
Directed and co-written by Nick Simo, Untitled Horror Movie stars Katherine McNamara (Arrow) as Chrissy, Emmy Raver-Lampman (The Umbrella Academy) as Alex, Claire Holt (The Vampire Diaries) as Kelly, Tim Granaderos (13 Reasons Why) as Kip, Darren Barnet (Never Have I Ever) as Max and co-writer Luke Baines (Shadowhunters) as Declan. The films premieres digitally on June 15.
Venom: Let There Be Carnage
One of the biggest surprise hits at the movies in 2018 was Venom, introducing Tom Hardy as the symbiote-powered Eddie Brock. Sony has unveiled the first trailer for its sequel Venom: Let There Be Carnage, as the convicted serial killer Cletus Kasady bonds with his own symbiote and escapes from prison, setting the two men on a collision course to remember.
Directed by Andy Serkis, Venom: Let There Be Carnage stars Tom Hardy, Woody Harrelson, Michelle Williams, Naomie Harris, Reid Scott, Stephen Graham, Sean Delaney and Larry Olubamiwo. The film arrives in theaters Sept. 24.
Wish Dragon
A young boy named Din is about to have his life changed forever in the upcoming Netflix original animated movie Wish Dragon, premiering next month. Produced by Jackie Chan, the film has Din discover a magical teapot inhabited by a dragon named Long capable of granting his greatest wishes. As unscrupulous figures target the teapot for their own ends, Din has to stay one step ahead to keep Long safe.
Written and directed by Chris Appelhans, Wish Dragon stars the voice talents of Jimmy Wong, John Cho, Constance Wu, Natasha Liu Bordizzo, Will Yun Lee, Jimmy O. Yang, Aaron Yoo, Bobby Lee and Ronnie Chieng. It will premiere on Netflix on June 11.
