A different animation studio is taking the reins on Restaurant to Another World for the anime series' upcoming second season.
SILVER LINK animated Restaurant to Another World Season 1. However, as reported by Anime News Network, OLM will produce Season 2. Based in Tokyo, OLM (formerly Oriental Light and Magic) was founded in 1990. It is perhaps best known as the animation studio behind the Pokémon anime series and feature films.
With OLM taking over for SILVER LINK on Restaurant to Another World Season 2, Yasukazu Shoji is replacing Keiichi Sano and Takao Sano as character designer. In spite of the studio change, however, Masato Jinbo remains attached to the series as director and script supervisor. Kadokawa, the original publisher of Restaurant to Another World, also confirms the return of three cast members: Junichi Suwabe as Shopkeeper, Sumire Uesaka as Aletta and Saori Ōnishi as Kuro.
Restaurant to Another World began life as a novel series by Junpei Inuzuka in 2013, with a light novel series written by Inuzuka and illustrated by Katsumi Enami premiering in 2015. A manga written by Inuzuka and illustrated by Takaaki Kugatsu ran from 2016 to 2019. A new manga written by Inuzuka and illustrated Morozawa Yamizawa premieres April 26. The first season of the anime adaptation, animated by SILVER LINK, ran for 12 episodes from July to September of 2017. Crunchyroll streamed Restaurant to Another World Season 1 with English subtitles, with Funimation producing an English dub.
