Hot Toys has announced a screen accurate sixth scale figure based on Hailee Steinfeld's Kate Bishop from the 2021 Hawkeye limited series.
Available for pre-order on Sideshow, the upcoming Hawkeye figure boasts "a newly developed head and hair sculpt, realistic wound make-up and bandage; finely tailored archer costume; wood grain patterned bow, also arrows and interchangeable trick heads, arrow quiver and a figure stand for display." The product is expected to ship in 2023 between July and December.
The figure stands approximately 11" tall and features 28 points of articulations in the body along with eight interchangeable gloved hands. Fans familiar with Hawkeye will recognize the figure's costume as the one Bishop wears for the first time in the series finale. The inclusion of a bow and quiver, complete with six normal arrows and six trick arrows, will allow any fan or collector to recreate their favorite scenes from the hit Disney+ series.
Created by Allan Heinberg and Jim Cheung, Kate Bishop first appeared in 2005's Young Avengers #1 as a member of that titular team. Kate was a skilled archer who assumed the Hawkeye name following Clint Barton's death in House of M. The character has headlined numerous solo series since 2005, with the most notable one being the Matt Fraction and David Aja Hawkeye series, which the Disney+ series is heavily based on.
Steinfeld was officially cast as Kate Bishop in December 2020 after months of rumors saying she was the front-runner for the role. In November 2021, Marvel Studios' Kevin Feige talked about the casting process for Kate Bishop. "We were very, very lucky that Hailee was open to this because we very much believed that she was sort of the prototype for the character, and as occasionally happens, the dream version of the character agrees to do it," Fiege said at the time. "So I think there were some early meetings and discussions, but we were very thankful that she wanted to jump into this role because we had a feeling that she would be great, and she is."
While Marvel has not greenlit Hawkeye Season 2, Steinfeld was reportedly seen on the set of Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, fueling rumors that she will appear in the threequel as Kate. Echo, a Hawkeye spinoff series starring Alaqua Cox as Maya Lopez, began filming in April 2022.
Fans can pre-order the Kate Bishop Hot Toys figure for $270 and stream Hawkeye in its entirety on Disney+.
