Urusei Yatsura's new anime series has confirmed additional casting and revealed its latest visual and trailer!
Date A Live's Maaya Uchida will be joining the cast as Shinobu Miyake with Ouran High School Host Club's Mamoru Miyano as Shutaro Mendo. Previously announced cast members include Hiroshi Kamiya as Ataru and Sumire Uesaka as Lum.
Adapted from Rumiko Takahashi's romantic comedy manga series, Urusei Yatsura follows a high school boy named Ataru Moroboshi, who is selected as the human player in a game of tag instigated by aliens known as Oni. If Ataru can successfully touch the horns of Lum, the daughter of the invasion’s leader, the invading aliens will let humanity go free.
The upcoming series is the manga's second anime adaptation. Spanning four cours, it will adapt selected stories from the original manga. Hideya Takahashi and Yasuhiro Kimura will direct at David Production with series composition by Yuko Kakihara and character design by Naoyuki Asano.
Urusei Yatsura's new anime series will premiere in 2022.
