Yu-Gi-Oh! Go Rush!! Adds Cosplay Superstar

One of Japan's most prominent cosplayers has joined the cast of the upcoming anime Yu-Gi-Oh! Go Rush!!

According to Crunchyroll, Enako, a 27-year old professional cosplayer and model, will voice the magical sheep monster girl Meegu-chan in the new series. This will be the first full-length, feature voice acting role for Enako. She joins veteran voice actors Arthur Lounsbery (Digimon Adventure: Last Evolution Kizuna) and Takuya Eguchi (That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime).

Yu-Gi-Oh! Go Rush!! will be the first anime series in the Yu-Gi-Oh! franchise's history to feature an alien as the protagonist: Yudias, an extraterrestrial who comes from the planet Belgar. He journeys to Earth to find Rush Duel, which he hopes will help him and his loved ones find a new future after they were forced to flee their home star system. However, when Yudias arrives, he encounters a group with the goal of ridding the world of aliens.

Bridge, the studio behind the previous series in the franchise, Yu-Gi-Oh! Sevens, is producing Yu-Gi-Oh! GO Rush!!. Nobuhiro Kondo (Cardfight!! Vanguard GZ) is directing the anime with Toshimitsu Takeuchi (Saint Seiya: Soul of Gold) overseeing the series composition, Hiromi Matsushita (Sailor Moon) and Kazuko Tadano (Hunter x Hunter) designing the characters and Masahiro Hikokubo (Yu-Gi-Oh!) handling the duel layout.

Enako's casting in Yu-Gi-Oh! Go Rush!! isn't the only piece of exciting news for the popular multimedia franchise. Multiple new action figures have been announced as well. Japanese toymaker Megahouse recently revealed it is adding a Seto Kaiba figure to its V.S. Series of pre-painted statues. The Yu-Gi-Oh! The Dark Side of Dimensions Seto Kaiba figure features the stoic duelist summoning both a Blue-Eyes White Dragon and Blue-Eyes Alternative White Dragon and retails for roughly $400. Megahouse also opened preorders for a highly detailed figurine of the Black Magician (better known as the Dark Magician to Western audiences) that showcases the monster's red and blue color schema from the manga and retails for approximately $155.

Moreover, Master Duel, which is a free-to-play, cross-platform version of Yu-Gi-Oh!'s iconic trading card game, is now available on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, multiple versions of the Xbox, iOS and Android. It features single and online multiplayer modes, 4K graphics and over 10,000 cards. The game is intended to be fun and accessible for both newcomers and veterans of the game.

Yu-Gi-Oh! Go Rush!! is scheduled to debut in Japan on April 3; it is currently unclear if or when the anime will receive an international or North American release.
