Naruto's Baryon Mode lives on in a new wooden sculpture from artists at the Woodart_Vietnam YouTube channel.
The studio's latest video shows how the sculptors and wood workers created the large statue. According to the video's description, the Naruto figure took several months to design, plan, and meticulously carve out by hand. The statue features the Hokage in his most powerful form, known as Baryon Mode, which is achieved by mixing his own chakra with the energy of Kurama, the nine-tailed fox that was sealed within Naruto shortly after his birth. So far, Naruto has only utilized the form once, in a jaw dropping battle with Isshiki Otsutsuki. That fight was recently animated in Episode 217 of the Boruto: Naruto Next Generations anime, which was lauded by fans and critics alike as a return to form for the beloved ninja franchise.
Woodart_Vietnam is a team of wood cutters who use traditional Vietnamese wood carving techniques to create beautiful statues of modern pop culture icons, such as Naruto. In addition to the leader of Konohagakure, the studio has also uploaded videos showing how they created statues for various One Piece and Attack on Titan characters, as well as American comic book icons such as Venom. True to his ninja nature, Naruto has been appearing in a lot of places you wouldn't expect lately: in addition to appearing out of a block of wood, the ninja and the rest of Team 7 recently made their debut in Fortnite, where players can earn Naruto-themed skins for their character and earn other accessories inspired by Masashi Kishimoto's classic anime and manga series. The latest live-action stage adaptation of the series will also be streamed worldwide, giving fans a surprising new way to watch the adventures of the bright orange shinobi.
The complete Naruto manga series is distributed in English from VIZ Media. Kishimoto's manga series was adapted into two separate anime series, the original Naruto and its post-time skip continuation, Naruto Shippuden, which are both available for streaming on Netflix, Hulu, Crunchyroll and Funimation. Kishimoto's original Naruto came to an end in 2014, but was followed up with the sequel series, Boruto: Naruto Next Generations. Both the Boruto manga and anime are currently still on-going: new chapters are released on a monthly basis by VIZ Media, while the show can be streamed on Crunchyroll, which is simulcasting new episodes of the series as they air in Japan.
