Funimation has revealed the full English cast and crew for the anime series Wonder Egg Priority a day before debuting the first two episodes in English on its streaming platform.
Cast in the lead role of Ai Ohto is Mikaela Krantz who is better known for her work in Fairy Tail and Attack on Titan. The other main roles of Neiru Aonuma, Rika Kawai and Momoe Sawaki are being portrayed by Dawn M. Bennett, Anairis Quiñones and Michelle Rojas respectively. Both Bennett and Quiñones have worked on RWBY, with Bennett being recently cast in Mars Red. Quiñones has also worked on Attack on Titan alongside Rojas and Krantz, while Rojas' other work includes Black Clover and Fruits Basket.
The remaining English-speaking cast members are Brendan Blaber as Acca, Ian Sinclair as Ura-Acca, Suzie Yeung as Koito, Stephen Fu as Mr. Sawaki, Emily Fajardo as Tae and Nazia Chadhry as Misaki.
Wonder Egg Priority follows a junior high school student named Ai Ohto, who temporarily stopped going to school following the tragic death of her close friend Koito Nagase via suicide. It is only when Ai visits an empty park one night that she hears a mysterious voice guide her into acquiring her first Wonder Egg that her strange adventures begin. From that moment onward, Ai finds herself in a nightmarish dream world where Wonder Eggs hatch to reveal girls who have died by suicide whom she must protect from both the Seeno Evil monsters and the Wonder Killer. Ai learns that if she saves enough of these girls, there is a chance she can bring her friend back to life. It is in following through with this task that Ai meets Neiru, Rika and Momoe, who also have girls in their lives who committed suicide.
Wonder Egg Priority is produced by CloverWorks, Aniplex, Nippon Television and D.N. Dream Partners. The anime series is created and written by Shinji Nojima and directed by Shin Wakabayashi, with character designs by Saki Takahashi.The Japanese voice cast includes Kanata Aikawa as Ai Ohto, Tomori Kusunoki as Neiru Aonuma, Shuka Saitō as Rika Kawai and Hinake Yano as Momoe Sawaki. All 12 episodes of the anime series are available for streaming in Japanese on Funimation's website, with the first two episodes available in English. A special episode is set to air sometime later this year.
