Kadokawa released a teaser trailer for Season 2 of Uzazki-chan Wants to Hang Out!, giving fans a preview of what the upcoming season has in store.
The trailer spotlights the colorful members of the titular character's family. Her mother Tsuki is voiced by Saori Hayami (My Senpai is Annoying), her father Fujio is played by Hideo Ishikawa (Pandora in the Crimson Shell: Ghost Urn), her brother Kiki is voiced by Yuko Sanpei (Boruto: Naruto Next Generations) and her younger sister Yanagi is played by Seina Kato in her anime voice acting debut. The trailer also reveals that Season 2 of Uzaki-chan Wants to Hang Out! is set to make its debut sometime this year.
It has been confirmed that Naomi Ōzora (World Trigger) and Kenji Akabane (The World's Finest Assassin Gets Reincarnated in Another World as an Aristocrat) will once again star as Hana Uzaki and her love interest Shinichi Sakurai, respectively. Moreover, Kazuya Miura (Attack on Titan: Junior High) will return as the anime's director alongside Manabu Kurihara (Tokyo Ghoul: Pinto) as the character designer and Takashi Aoshima (No Game, No Life) as the series composition supervisor.
The Uzaki-chan Wants to Hang Out! manga is an ongoing romantic comedy series by Take that is serialized through Niconico Seiga's Dra Dra Sharp website. It first appeared on the site in December 2017 and so far, the series has produced seven volumes worth of content. In North America, the manga is licensed by Seven Seas Entertainment, and the first season of the anime adaptation by animation studio ENGI (The Detective is Already Dead) premiered in September 2020.
The story follows the titular Uzaki-chan (also known as Hana), who is a second-year college student and is occasionally mistaken for an elementary school student because of her height. She is excited to find out that she is attending the same university as her high school upperclassman, Shinichi, but is disappointed to find out that he has become a reclusive loner. However, Hana decides to save him from his isolation and introduce him to a fun lifestyle, regardless of his feelings on the matter, but as she spends more time with Shinichi, romantic feelings begin to bloom.
Season 1 of Uzaki-chan Wants to Hang Out! is currently available to stream on Crunchyroll, Prime Video and Funimation.
