Yuichi Nakamura and Saori Hayami are set to reprise their roles as Tatsuya and Miyuki Shiba. They will be joined by Kikuko Inoue as Miya Shiba and Aya Endo as Honami Sakurai.

Risako Yoshida, who directed Seasons 2 and 3, will return to direct at Eight Bit with scripting by Munemasa Nakamoto and music by Taku Iwasaki.

Originally a web novel by Tsutomu Sato, The Irregular at Magic High School takes place in a world where magic is a recognised technology. The story follows Tatsuya and Miyuki Shiba, siblings who enrol at a magic school where the latter is considered a gifted magician. Meanwhile, despite Tatsuya's poor ranking by school standards, he is marked an "irregular" due to his unique talents.

Set three years before Tatsuya and Miyuki enroll at First High School, the Reminiscence arc explores how the siblings' relationship changes forever during a family vacation to Okinawa.

The Irregular at Magic High School's Reminiscence arc will air in Japan this winter.
