A new trailer has been released for Teasing Master Takagi-San's upcoming third season, along with confirmation that the rom-com series will get its own movie.
Both the third season and the movie will be released in Japan in 2022, with the TV series returning in January and the movie premiering sometime after that. Most of the key staff and cast from the previous two seasons of the anime will reprise their roles in the new season and movie, including director Hiroaki Akagi and production studio Shin-Ei Animation, which is best known for their work on the long-running Crayon Shin-Chan and Doraemon franchises. Aya Takano, who worked on shows such as Eureka Seven and My Hero Academia, will provide character designs. Musician Yuiko Ohara, whose music was previously featured in shows such Little Witch Academia and Mushoku Tensei, will return to provide a new opening theme for this season. A new poster was also released to promote the new anime projects.

Teasing Master Takagi-San tells the story of two middle school students who have a crush on each other but would never admit it: the titular teasing master Takagi, and the target of her affection, Nishikata. Takagi constantly plays pranks on the easily flustered Nishikata, who formulates elaborate plans to get revenge on his bully, but they usually end up backfiring on him. Though the combative relationship between the two eventually evolves from playful antagonism to genuine admiration, neither side will admit that they have a crush on each other.
The series was created by author Soichiro Yamamoto and was first published in 2013. The series was first adapted into an anime in 2018, followed by a second season in 2019. The series has been praised for its comedy and for the surprisingly sweet way the relationship develops between its two young leads. In addition to Takagi-San, Yamamoto is also known for another romantic-comedy manga series, the shogi-themed When Will Ayumu Make His Move, which debuted in 2019. Both Takagi-San and When Will Ayumu Make His Move have on-going serializations, with the former series being released by Shogakuan in Japan and Yen Press in English, and the latter being published by Kodansha in all regions.
The first season of Teasing Master Takagi-San is available on Netflix in the United States, while the entire series is streaming on both Funimation and Crunchyroll.
