Makoto Shinkai's new anime film Suzume no Tojimari has revealed new info for three key characters!
First up is a young man named Sota Munakata, a "door closer" who travels around Japan on a journey to find and shut the doors that bring disaster. On his way to a door situated in some ruins, he comes across Suzume.
The second character is a white cat named Daijin. Suzume is at the mercy of this mysterious creature, who is capable of human speech and frequently appears where there are open doors.
Last but not least is a three-legged chair that Suzume used when she was little. It began to move around with its remaining legs due to a certain event.
Suzume no Tojimari follows Suzume, a seventeen-year-old girl who lives in a quiet town in Kyushu. After meeting a young man on a journey to find doors, she discovers a strange door, old but still standing despite the ruins surrounding it. Before long, doors all over Japan begin to open, bringing misfortune from beyond. Thus, Suzume must embark on her own journey to close these doors.
Suzume no Tojimari opens in Japan on November 11, 2022. It will screen outside Asia in early 2023 via Crunchyroll.
