WARNING: The following contains spoilers for SSSS.Dynazenon Episode 11, "What Wish Can't Come True?" now streaming on Funimation.
After a fantastic defeat in the previous episode, the Kaiju Eugenicists had appeared run out of kaiju to control in SSSS.Dynazenon. With the fight to save the world seemingly over, at last, the Dynazenon pilots and Eugenicists have been forced to move beyond the conflict and find purpose in their lives. However, Episode 11 reveals that one Eugenicist still has an ace up his sleeve.
The last episode’s stunning battle dealt a devastating blow to the Kaiju Eugenicists: With all the kaiju seeds gone, the Eugenicists can no longer carry out the will of kaiju, meaning that Gauma and Dynazenon seemingly won. In Episode 11, the Eugenicists go their separate ways to find meaning in life without kaiju.
The Dynazenon pilots are also looking forward to carrying on with their lives. Koyomi prepares a resume while Yume finally visits her sister’s grave. Opposite from his teammates, Gauma has not been doing as well -- writhing in pain by himself. Even Yomogi comments that he looks a bit down lately. With a happy ending on the horizon, Yomogi finally confesses his feelings to Yume but before she can answer, the Eugenicist Sizumu interrupts by attacking them both. Luckily, Gauma is there to take the blow for them, but his time is most likely up.
The attack weakens Gauma's already frail body, which Sizumu explains is decaying. He’s 5,000 years old, after all, and no longer connected to kaiju. While the Eugenicists were also revived, their continued status as kaiju users protects them from decay.
Soon after, Sizumu transforms and reveals the kaiju he's kept hidden inside of him. His obsession with Yume and Yomogi’s relationship helped fuel this kaiju as he purposely exposed it to their powerful emotions. Using this, Sizumu deals massive damage to the city while overpowering King Kaiser Gridknight. His transformation gives new life to the Eugenicists and sets the stage for a climactic battle to save mankind in next week’s SSSS.Dynazenon finale.
With Gauma approaching death, the pilots may have to find another way to stop Sizumu. They have a few options to do this. Chise and Koyomi are on their way to the scene, and while there is justification for Chise piloting instead of Gauma, she hasn’t had much practice at it. Given Gauma’s stubborn pride, he could use his last breath to pilot Dyna Diver. Even so, the beatdown Sizumu just delivered means there's only a very slim chance of a Dynazenon victory.
