Square Enix has launched a new multimedia franchise titled Deep Insanity, which spans anime, manga, and games!
Sharing a common universe, the franchise is set in an alternate reality where the world is struck with Randolph Syndrome, which causes people to never wake up. Meanwhile, previously unknown species unlike any on the surface of the Earth are discovered in a vast underground realm in the South Pole.
The franchise's TV anime, Deep Insanity: The Lost Child, is set for broadcast this October. Produced by Silver Link, it will follow a young boy venturing into the underground realm known as “Asylum,” where adventurers travel both in search of a cure for Randolph Syndrome and to plunder its riches. Hiro Shimono ( Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba, Black Clover ) will voice the protagonist, Daniel Kai Shigure.
Titled Deep Insanity: Asylum, the game will launch in September for iOS, Android, and PC (Steam) as a free-to-play RPG with in-game purchases.
The manga series, Deep Insanity: Nirvana, began serialization in seinen manga magazine Monthly Big Gangan in January this year.
