Seirei Gensouki: Spirit Chronicles Anime Reveals New Trailer, Premiere Date

TMS Entertainment confirmed that Seirei Gensouki: Spirit Chronicles TV anime will debut on July 5.

The premiere date was revealed on Seirei Gensouki's Twitter account and website, as reported by Anime Intelligence and Research (A.I.R.).

In addition to sharing the original post, A.I.R. posted a link to a new trailer for the anime series and wrote in the caption, "The 'Seirei Gensouki: Spirit Chronicles' TV anime begins July 5. (Studio: TMS Entertainment). They've also revealed a new key visual & PV."

The series features the voice of Yoshitsugu Matsuoka as Rio/Haruto Amakawa, Ayaka Suwa as young Rio, Akane Fujita as Celia Claire, Yūki Kuwahara as Aishia, Tomori Kusunoki as Latifa, Sayaka Harada as Miharu Ayase, Sayumi Suzushiro as Christina Beltrum, Kaede Hondo as Flora Beltrum, Sayaka Kaneko as Roanna Fontaine, Kenji Hamada as Alfred Emerle, Atsushi Tamaru as Charles Arbor, Koji Yusa as Reiss Vulfe, Nao Tōyama as Liselotte Cretia, Hiyori Nitta as Sara, Yukina Shutō as Orphia and Asuka Nishi as Alma.

It was also recently announced that the Spirit Chronicles anime series will be accompanied by a new video game. The Seirei Gensouki Another Tale role-playing game will be hosted by the G123 online service and will feature Rio and a handful of other familiar characters from the original story.

Fans will recall that Yuri Kitayama began serializing Rio's story on the "Shōsetsuka ni Narō" (Let's Become Novelists) website in February 2014. Hobby Japan began publishing the print version of the novels with illustrations by Riv in 2015, while Futago Minaduki launched the manga adaptation of the novels in 2017.

J-Novel Club, which is releasing both the novels and Futago Minaduki's manga adaptation, describes the story as follows,

Meet Rio: a callous orphaned boy living in the slums. At only 7-years-old, he realizes he's actually the reincarnation of Haruto Amakawa, a Japanese university student with a tragic past. While still reeling from this shocking epiphany, Rio also comes to learn that he possesses extremely potent magical abilities and uses his new powers to solve the kidnapping case of a little girl. His good deed is acknowledged, and he's rewarded by being enrolled into… a prestigious academy for noble children...?

The Seirei Gensouki: Spirit Chronicles anime will premiere on the TV Tokyo channel on July 5 and will also run on BS Fuji and AT-X, as well as stream on ABEMA and other services at a later date. ABEMA will also host a live-streamed special with the cast on June 20.
