Upcoming two-part anime film Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon Cosmos The Movie has announced the cast members behind three roles!
Megumi Hayashibara ( Rei Ayanami in the Evangelion franchise ) will play Sailor Galaxia, the self-proclaimed Golden Queen of Shadow Galactica who possesses destructive powers unrivaled by any other in the galaxy.
Nana Mizuki ( Hinata Hyuga in Naruto ) will play Princess Kakyuu, the princess of Kinmoku, a planet attacked by Sailor Galaxia.
Finally, Kotono Mitsuishi, the voice of Usagi/Sailor Moon, will pull double duty by also playing Sailor Chibi Chibi.
Billed as the conclusion to the Sailor Moon anime, the film will adapt the final arc of the iconic magical girl manga.
Kotono Mitsuishi will return to voice the titular heroine alongside Hisako Kanemoto as Sailor Mercury, Rina Sato as Sailor Mars, and more.
Naoko Takeuchi’s landmark '90s manga began running in Nakayoshi in December 1991, with its first TV anime adaptation following in 1992. The story follows clumsy high school girl Usagi Tsukino, who befriends talking black cat Luna and goes on to defend the world as the magical girl Sailor Moon.
Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon Cosmos The Movie will open in Japan on June 9 (Part 1) and June 30, 2023 (Part 2).
