WARNING: The following contains spoilers for Episode 42 of That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime, now streaming on Crunchyroll.
In Reincarnated as a Slime Season 2, Rimuru Tempest has concluded his grand meeting of nations to confront Clayman, feeling confident all the pieces are in place to ensure the dastardly Demon Lord's downfall. Clayman's army marches on the defenseless Eurazania nation, but Rimuru has already evacuated everyone there to foil him.
Clayman still has some advantages though, including his alliance with Demon Lord Frey and his unexpected partnership with Demon Lord Milim Nava as well. He aims to become a True Demon Lord with Eurazania's people as a sacrifice, but must ensure Milim's continued loyalty first. However, Episode 42 suggests this plan may come back to haunt him if he's not careful.
The carefree Milim had previously allied with whoever piqued her interest. In The Slime Diaries, Milim sided with Rimuru and enjoyed the many snacks, tourist attractions and festivities of Tempest. This is not an exclusive alliance though -- Milim also has friendly ties with Demon Lord Frey, a winged woman with enormous power who in turn has a connection with Clayman, one of Rimuru's greatest enemies. The three of them formed a power block to call for Walpurgis, and in Reincarnated as a Slime, Clayman aims to use the other two's influence to get his way during that meeting.
Clayman's problem is that, while Milim sees Frey as an equal, she views him as a small fry not worth taking entirely seriously. Being his cautious and manipulative self, Clayman found a simple but effective way to keep Milim on his side -- and uses Frey to get the job done. Milim, who trusts Frey, falls for Clayman's trap when Frey fastens a mind-control necklace around Milim's neck. She becomes Clayman's puppet, not even protesting when he strikes her repeatedly.
Demon Lord Clayman visits again later to check on Milim's status, striking her to prove that even blunt trauma won't snap her out of the necklace's effect. Despite losing his Falmuth and Church army to Rimuru, Clayman remains confident he can easily conquer Tempest with his majin army. Unfortunately for him, Rimuru's new teleportation spell will allow his own army to take on Clayman's, so Milim might not remain under his control for much longer.
Likewise, Demon Lord Frey doubts the mighty Milim will remain under Clayman's influence and warns him that her self-defense circuit, Stampede, may soon take effect. If it does, Milim might break free and strike Clayman down in retaliation for all he has done. If not, however, Rimuru or Veldora could end up fighting Milim and removing the necklace themselves. Either way, Clayman's new pet is likely to bite him on the hand rather than destroy his enemies. As Reincarnated as a Slime continues, Milim is a ticking time bomb waiting to go off in Clayman's face.
