Upon its release, Psycho Pass quickly became a huge success, earning praise from both fans and critics. It is easier than ever to stream episodes from the cyberpunk-thriller series.
Funimation has uploaded the English dub of the first two episodes of Psycho Pass -- "Crime Coefficient" and "Those Capable" -- on its official YouTube channel, allowing viewers to watch them for free. It is currently unknown if the rest of the series will also be released online.
The animation studio Production I.G created Psycho-Pass with Naoyoshi Shiotani (Blood-C: The Last Dark) and Katsuyuki Motohiro (Laughing Under the Clouds) serving as co-directors. Gen Urobuchi (Fate/Zero, Puella Magi Madoka Magica) wrote the show, Akira Amano (Reborn!) designed the characters and Yugo Kanno (JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: Stone Ocean) composed the music.
The English cast for the series includes several popular and experienced voice actors like Kate Oxley (My Hero Academia), Robert McCollum (The Ancient Magus' Bride), Alex Organ (My Hero Academia) and Jason Douglas (Dragon Ball Super: Broly).
Psycho Pass is set in a future where individuals' mental health can be monitored through technology. The police work in teams of Enforcers, who take out the bad guys, and Inspectors, who ensure their partners don't cross the line. They are equipped with Dominators, weapons that can predict when citizens will become criminals. The story follows Akane Tsunemori, a rookie Inspector, and her Enforcer-partner Shinya Kogami as they work to uncover the crimes of a prolific but mysterious criminal mastermind. Psycho Pass has produced three seasons of content and multiple movie, video game and manga tie-ins.
The anime quickly gained a passionate fan following. It was voted the fourth-best anime of 2013 at the Newtype Anime Awards and ranked the 19th best anime of all time in an NHK online poll in 2017. Moreover, Psycho Pass has been listed as one of the best animes of the 2010s by a number of different outlets, including Crunchyroll.
Psycho Pass isn't the only anime series that Funimation has released episodes for online. For example, episodes of Witchblade, Scarlet Nexus, High School DxD, Overlord, Gleipnir, Fairy Tail, Ragnarok The Animation, Pandora in the Crimson Shell: Ghost Urn, Ouran High School Host Club and Seraph of the End: Vampire Reign are available to watch on the streaming service's official YouTube channel.
All episodes of the first two seasons of Psycho Pass are available to stream on Funimation's website and Hulu.
