Australian bass-metal producer PhaseOne has officially unveiled “PULSE,” a “metal-core inspired breaks track” featuring bassist Harlan Allen-Jones and vocalist Joshua O’Donnell of Melbourne metal band Banks Arcade. Now streaming everywhere via PhaseOne’s self-founded Sounds Of Mayhem record label, “PULSE” continues to set the stage for PhaseOne’s looming sophomore album, Terranova, that he coins his “most ambitious project yet.” Speaking on his latest release, PhaseOne reveals he never has made anything like “PULSE” before, but he’s happy he did. “It was a lot of fun to write,” says the bass music tastemaker, adding,
“‘PULSE’ is a high-energy, metalcore-inspired breaks track—a genre I’d never experimented with before, but one I’m glad I did. Josh from Banks Arcade nailed the vocals, bringing everything together perfectly. The track has a pulsating rhythm that drives its energy. I’ve played it at a few shows now—each time, it gets the crowd bouncing. It’s got that infectious groove that really sticks with you!”
The current cover of Spotify’s official Rocktronic playlist, PhaseOne continues to pioneer a cutting edge genre with his latest release. As the due date of his sophomore album approaches, stream “PULSE,” featuring Banks Arcade, below.
