Netflix has released a teaser for the upcoming anime series Pacific Rim: The Black, as well as an official release date.
The trailer features news reports from Australia, as Kaiju emerge from the breach and assault cities throughout the nation. A glimpse at the brother and sister protagonist duo is also revealed, as they armor up and prepare to pilot their Jaeger. "What do we do?" the sister asks. Her brother replies with a simple sentence: "Initiate the Drift." Pacific Rim: The Black will release on Netflix March 4.

Pacific Rim: The Black is set in-between the events of the first Pacific Rim film and its sequel, Pacific Rim: Uprising. The series follows a pair of siblings as they discover an abandoned Jaeger and defend Australia from a series of Kaiju attacks.
Pacific Rim: The Black had been in development since 2018, with Legendary Entertainment producing the series. Polygon Pictures, the animation studio behind several Netflix anime projects including a trilogy of Godzilla films, will provide animation for Pacific Rim: The Black. Greg Johnson and Craig Kyle, who have written for several X-Men animated series including X-Men: Evolution, serve as head writers.
Long ago, humanity defeated the Kaiju. Now, they're evacuating Australia. Join a pair of siblings and their battered, long-abandoned Jaegar as they battle across a continent of danger.
Pacific Rim: The Black will be available to stream on Netflix starting on March 4, 2021.
