Nitefreak kicks off his new label, Afroholic Records, with the kind of cut that makes people pay attention. “Masterclass” brings in house icon Roland Clark for a brooding, percussive session that runs deep and doesn’t let go.
The groove is stripped and steady. Clark’s voice threads through the mix like a warning and a promise. Every element sits in the pocket, nothing rushed, nothing wasted. It’s the kind of track that creeps in and stays there.
Nitefreak’s rise has been steady, with cosigns from Black Coffee, Keinemusik, and Pete Tong already on the board. But this record feels like a turning point and Afroholic is setting the pace.
If “Masterclass” is the opening statement, it’s clear Nitefreak’s playing the long game.
