MegaHouse unveiled the final version of its new figure of Naruto's Sakura Haruno at Jump Festa, an annual event celebrating Shonen Jump anime and manga.
While it debuted an unpainted prototype earlier this month, the new trailer showcasing the figure marks the first time MegaHouse has shared a colored version of the statue. The figure depicting Sakura Haruno slamming the ground with her patented "Shannaro!" punch stands at around 10 inches tall and 11 inches wide as per the MegaHobby Expo 2021 website. Donning her signature look from Naruto Shippuden, angry pink flames and airborne chunks of earth surround Sakura as they are unleashed from the force of her monstrous strength and expert chakra control.
The figure falls under MegaHouse's "NARUTO Gals" line, which includes figures of various women from the Shonen juggernaut such as Temari, Tsunade and fan-favorite Hinata Hyuga. While figures of Sakura have been released as part of the line before, this new statue is a "DX" deluxe edition, which reproduces some of the girls' most iconic moves with huge effect parts. Hinata was also given the "DX" treatment as MegaHouse released a figure of her using the Gentle Step Twin Lion Fists technique last March.
Naruto is one of the biggest anime series in the world, with its source material being the fourth best-selling manga series of all time. It tells the tale of Naruto Uzumaki, a gutsy young ninja who is ostracised due to the demon sealed inside him. He yearns to earn the recognition of his village by becoming their Hokage, one of the highest honors that can be bestowed on a ninja. Sakura, the series' primary female protagonist, forms a part of Team 7 alongside Naruto, classmate Sasuke Uchiha and sensei Kakashi Hatake. While the Naruto anime's main storyline concluded in 2017, the saga continues in Boruto: Naruto Next Generations, which follows Naruto's son, Boruto Uzumaki, and features many returning characters including Sakura.
The new Sakura figure was not the only piece of upcoming Naruto merchandise announced at Jump Festa. MegaHouse also unveiled its painted prototype of a brand-new figure of Itachi Uchiha standing in the palm of his famous Susanoo. It is currently available for preorder at around $363 USD for an Aug., 2022 release.
MegaHouse, however, has yet to announce when the new Sakura figure will be released. The price of the figure is also unknown, although it can be noted that Hinata's DX figure is listed at around $213 USD (including tax) on MegaHouse's website. While they are not as flashy or dynamic as her DX figure, Sakura fans can also show their love through purchasing the pink-haired kunoichi's previous figures, which cost around $90 USD and $114 USD each.
