There’s dance music that assaults you, and then there’s dance music that actually gives a damn about your emotional wellbeing. MYRNE’s “Heal EP” falls firmly in the latter category – four tracks of what the Singapore producer has aptly dubbed “emotional dance music,” and in this chaotic world, it’s exactly the sonic medicine we needed.
The EP opens with the title track “Heal” featuring Shallou, immediately establishing that this isn’t what you reach for when you want to lose your mind; it’s what you play when you need to find it again. Those milky synth textures feel like the audio equivalent of someone wrapping you in a weighted blanket after a rough day.
“Salve In The Mist” deepens the atmosphere with evolving progressions that unfold like chapters in a good book, while “Light Through The Leaves” delivers exactly what its name promises – those expansive chords feel like actual sunshine filtering down through a forest canopy. By the time closer “Lily” arrives with its minimalist flourishes and smooth basslines, you’re fully immersed in MYRNE’s world.
For a producer who cut his teeth on Mad Decent and has since conquered Ultra Miami and Tomorrowland, this EP shows remarkable restraint. With 383,000 monthly Spotify listeners and tracks like “Feels Right” crossing 20 million streams, MYRNE could easily chase trends. Instead, he’s crafted something that works as well at home as it does on a dancefloor.
