My Next Life as a Villainess: All Routes Lead to Doom! is a heart-warming and otome isekai series, taking place within a fictional otome game called Fortune Lover. An ordinary high school girl awoke one day in the game world, but not as the charming heroine Maria Campbell. Instead, she ended up in the expensive shoes of the spoiled-rotten villainess, Katarina Claes.
The new Katarina Claes has a problem — the fact that she's Katarina Claes. She's got meta-knowledge on her side, having played Fortune Lover before, but Maria's success means Katarina's doom, no matter which suitor Maria ends up with. The new Katarina Claes has to invent her own GAME OVER screen where everyone can be happy, and that's easier said than done. But she managed to survive Season 1, so hopefully, nothing in the upcoming Season 2 throws a wrench into our beloved villainess's plans.
Here's what we know so far about My Next Life as a Villainess Season 2's plot, trailer and release date.
The Story So Far: Katarina Claes's Otome Game Survival Quest
The new Katarina Claes is a gentle soul, unlike the original from Fortune Lover, but the game's endings are still less than thrilling for the villainess. As the bad girl and rival, Katarina ends up either exiled or killed off, depending on how Maria Campbell's adventure pans out. But, having played through the game in her old life, the new Katarina Claes knows what's coming, and resolves to use the game's prequel years to prepare. This new Katarina is energetic and optimistic, albeit dense, and she begins laying the groundwork for her all-new route right away.
The young Katarina is already engaged to the charming, princely Geordo Stuart, and has a foster brother named Keith. In the original game, these boys (among others) don't like Katarina that much, and they find ways to compensate for their misery, from reckless womanizing to switching sides to courting Maria Campbell, which sure enough, inevitably leads to Katarina's doom. Katarina resolves to be kind and befriend every character instead and making herself the central point of the entire Fortune Lover social web. In time, Katarina becomes a doting sister to Keith, and seeks out other major characters to put their lives back on track and allow them to blossom into happy, fully functional people.
Katarina's hard work pays off, and when everyone is 15 years old and attending a magical school together, she has yet to get on anyone's bad side. Right on time, Maria Campbell herself arrives, a kind, lonely girl who soon faces a whole squad of mean girls that torment her for possessing unusual magic and her commoner status. In the original Fortune Lover, Katarina was the leader of those mean girls, but this time, Katarina is Maria's defender and friend, which Maria is deeply grateful for — which might be its own problem. Instead of hating her, all of Katarina's friends are falling in love with her instead of each other, and this new story route might lead to Katarina's doom anyway. Ideally, Maria won't fall in love with anyone, but if she falls for Katarina, what next? Surely, Fortune Lover will find a way to give Katarina a bad end. She's supposed to be the villainess, after all.
If that weren't enough, Sirius Dieke, the scheming student council president, kidnaps Maria with his dark magic. But, once Katarina and the gang confront him, they discover that Sirius is actually Raphael Walt. A dark plot to save the sickly Sirius Dieke resulted in a boy who is two people in one, but once Raphael is embraced as a friend, Maria is freed and peace returns to the school. But Katarina still has more than a few suitors on her plate, which could make her situation more precarious than ever.

Season 2 Trailer For My Next Life As A Villainess
Season 2's trailer begins on a high note, as Katarina holds the count book that allows her to map out her future and avoid death flags in the game's story. Katarina has done a fine job surviving so far as the villainess, despite the game's fatal intentions, but she's unfortunately opened herself up to harm in some new ways.
The trailer makes it clear that all sorts of adventures lay ahead, from ballroom dancing practice to a mysterious masked magician to a festival with Sirius/Raphael in tow. But with so many suitors after her heart, can Katarina survive the trials of the day and breaking hearts?
