Miraculous: Tales of Ladybug & Cat Noir became a worldwide sensation immediately after it aired in 2015, gaining a reputation as a formidable CGI superhero series as fans continuously supported its development.
With its growing popularity, Thomas Astruc, creator of Miraculous Ladybug, could potentially set his sights on a live-action adaptation. Here are some suggestions as to who should be chosen to portray each Miraculous main character (excluding kwamis and smaller roles).
Kimiko Glenn as Marinette Dupain-Cheng/Ladybug
Kimiko Glenn is most famous for her role as Brooke Soso in Orange is the New Black, which was a roaring success and remains one of Netflix's most-watched series. Not only does Glenn resemble Marinette physically, but she has the acting chops to back it up, making her a solid choice for the female titular protagonist.
Ross Lynch as Adrien Agreste/Cat Noir
Ross Lynch is most known for his role as Harvey Kinkle in The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina, which earned itself a reputation as another Netflix hit. He has the hair, facial features and fashion sense to play Adrien Agreste, but also has an acting career focused on teen entertainment, such as Austin & Ally.
Zendaya as Alya Césaire/Rena Rouge
Zendaya is most known for playing Rue Bennett in HBO's Euphoria and Mary-Jane "MJ" in Marvel's Spider-Man: Homecoming and Far From Home. Aside from this promising career as a budding actress, Zendaya also has the looks and mannerisms needed to bring Alya Césaire to life on the big screen.
Jordan Fisher as Nino Lahiffe/Carapace
Jordan Fisher is most known for recurring roles on several television series, including The Secret Life of the American Teenager and Liv and Maddie. Fisher already has Nino's "goofy gamer" personality, but he would also benefit greatly from a big-time role in such a universally popular series as Miraculous.
Florence Pugh as Chloé Bourgeois/Queen Bee
Florence Pugh is best known for playing the central character in Midsommar, but also snatched the supporting role in Marvel's Black Widow as Natasha Romanoff's adopted sister, Yelena Belova. Not only does Pugh fit the profile in terms of physical appearance, but she also has a diverse acting range that would be ideal for Chloé's volatile personality.
Sadie Sink as Sabrina Raincomprix
Sadie Sink is most known for portraying Max Mayfield in the Netflix television series Stranger Things and Ziggy Berman in the Netflix horror film trilogy Fear Street. Despite being in Miss Bustier's class together, fans have speculated that Sabrina is younger than Chloé. If we compare Florence and Sink in those roles, that fan theory applies.
Daniel Craig as Gabriel Agreste/Hawkmoth
Daniel Craig gained international fame through his portrayal of James Bond in the popular global franchise of the same name. He took the mantle of Bond from Casino Royale to the recently released No Time to Die. Craig certainly looks the part to play overprotective father and supervillain Gabriel Agreste, but he also has the fame to boot.
Blake Lively as Emilie Agreste
Blake Lively is renowned for her starring role as Serena van der Woodsen in Gossip Girl and for acting alongside Anna Kendrick in A Simple Favor. Based purely on appearances only, Craig and Lively make a fitting Gabriel and Emilie respectively, but Blake has likewise gained individual recognition as a talented actress.
Lucy Liu as Nathalie
Lucy Liu is known for many roles, but CBS's Elementary was the show that kept her constantly in the public eye. She plays Sherlock Holmes' sidekick Watson, starring alongside Jonny Lee Miller. Liu has the familiarity of playing an especially intellectual and discerning role, so Nathalie would likely be an effortless transition.
Elizabeth Gillies as Juleka Couffaine
Elizabeth Gillies made her first television appearance in The Black Donnellys, later starring as Jade West in the Nickelodeon series Victorious, which appealed to many adolescents. Having played Jade West, Gillies definitely has experience with characters whose style of choice is "emo" with some romantic goth elements.
Louis Partridge as Luka Couffaine
Louis Partridge is best known for his role as Tewkesbury in the Netflix original film Enola Holmes, starring alongside Millie Bobby Brown. While Partridge is less prominent than some other actors, he still looks the part and has the potential to expand his career; Miraculous would surely be a groundbreaking start for him.
AnnaSophia Robb as Rose Lavillant
AnnaSophia Robb made her leading debut as the titular role in Samantha: An American Girl Holiday. However, most fans know her as Leslie Burke in Bridge to Terabithia. Robb even has Rose Lavillant's signature haircut -- a definite step in the right direction.
Caleb McLaughlin as Max Kanté
Caleb McLaughlin is known for playing Lucas Sinclair in the Netflix series Stranger Things alongside Sadie Sink and Noah Schnapp. He won the Screen Actors Guild Award for Outstanding Performance, proving that McLaughlin already has a promising career ahead of him at just 19 years old. In fact, Lucas shares many similar traits with Max -- McLaughlin has perhaps already perfected the role without even knowing it.
Emma Schweiger as Mylène Haprèle
Emma Schweiger is known for having played the role of Cheyenne Blue in the 2007 film Keinohrhasen and its 2009 sequel Zweiohrküken. At just 18 years old, many Americans will likely be unfamiliar with Schweiger, but aside from fitting the physical profile nicely, she still has the portfolio to prove that playing Mylène would be a walk in the park.
Ben Hanson as Ivan Bruel
Ben Hanson is most known for Blue Heelers, The Echo of Thunder and The Story of Tracy Beaker. Although he has fewer credited roles than some other actors on this list, never let that be a testament to his ability -- Hanson is a promising actor with a bright future, even if he just needs his big break to get started.
Adren Cho as Kagami Tsurugi
Adren Cho is best known for her role as Kira Yukimura on Teen Wolf. With "Teen" in the name, Adren is well-versed in portraying teenagers for a teenage audience, which fits the concept of Miraculous. Kagami is less present than the other students, but since she wields the Dragon Miraculous, we'll surely be seeing more of her, and hopefully more of Cho.
Spencer Boldman as Lê Chiến Kim
Spencer Boldman is known for his role as Adam Davenport on Disney XD's Lab Rats and for playing Gio in the film Cruise. Another actor who gained popularity through children's television, Boldman would be an ideal candidate to play Kim, especially as he already has experience playing the "meathead" jock role as Adam Davenport.
Lachlan Watson as Alix Kubdel
Lachlan Watson is best known for playing Theo Putnam in the Netflix original series The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina. Although Watson has yet to have a more substantial role, starring in a live-action Miraculous Ladybug could certainly raise their profile.
Noah Schnapp as Marc Anciel
Noah Schnapp is known for playing Will Byers in the Netflix television series Stranger Things, for which he won the Screen Actors Guild Award for Outstanding Performance. Since he has experience acting alongside McLaughlin and Sink, the choice for Schnapp to play Marc is a no-brainer. At just 17, he has already been recognized as a highly promising actor.
Cory Gruter-Andrew as Nathaniel Kurtzberg
Cory Gruter-Andrew came into the spotlight thanks to his outstanding role as Aden in the CW television series The 100. While Gruter-Andrew is a lesser-known actor, he has still proven himself worthy for a big-time role in a popular film, with something like Miraculous Ladybug potentially being his breakthrough performance.
Jackie Chan as Master Fu
Jackie Chan's most notable performance was of Mr. Han in the 2010 adaptation of The Karate Kid. He is also a famous household name for his substantial amount of appearances in several high-profile films such as Rush Hour and The Foreigner. Mr. Han and Master Fu have a lot in common as mentors, giving Chan a major advantage already.
India Eisley as Lila Rossi
India Eisley is known for her roles as Ashley Juergens in the ABC Family television series The Secret Life of the American Teenager and Eve in Underworld: Awakening. While Eisley usually plays darker roles, portraying Lila Rossi in Miraculous would suit her perfectly.
