Horror manga Chainsaw Man is set to receive a TV anime produced by MAPPA!
Originally a manga by Fujimoto Tatsuki, the series follows a young man named Denji who becomes a devil hunter in order to pay off his dead father's debts to the yakuza. After falling victim to a plot by the yakuza, he merges with his demon dog Pochita to become Chainsaw Man.
Fujimoto expressed his excitement for the anime with humor, commenting that he couldn't believe that MAPPA, the studio behind Dorohedoro and Jujutsu Kaisen, would be producing Chainsaw Man despite it being "something like a copy" of the aforementioned manga.
Meanwhile, MAPPA pledged to stake their reputation as a studio on bringing top quality animation to fans.
While air dates have not yet been revealed, a visual was released as a teaser of the violence to come.
