Magia Record: Puella Magi Madoka Magica Side Story Trailer Confirms Premiere Date

A new trailer for the final season of Magia Record: Puella Magi Madoka Magica Side Story confirms a close-at-hand premiere date.

Alongside giving viewers a glimpse of what the story has in store for its magical girls, the trailer confirms that all four episodes of the final season will make their debut at the same time in Japan on April 3. It is currently unclear if or when the episodes will be released internationally. Magia Record: Puella Magi Madoka Magica Side Story's final season will feature a new ending theme, "Orgel (Music Box)," which is a collaboration between bands ClariS and TrySail.

Based on the role-playing video game developed by f4samurai for Android and iOS, Magia Record: Puella Magi Madoka Magica Side Story is set in a world where, in exchange for the fulfillment of a single wish, young girls are granted power in order to battle threats that are unknown to the rest of the world. The story follows Iroha Tamaki, a magical girl who cannot remember her wish, and while she continues to fight, she also wishes to find her missing memories.

Produced by Studio Shaft (March Comes in Like a Lion), the anime is directed by Gekidan Inu Curry, aka Doro-Inu, with Katsuhiko Takayama (The World's Finest Assassin Gets Reincarnated in Another World as an Aristocrat) overseeing the series composition, Takumi Ozawa (Aria the Scarlet Ammo) composing the music and Junichirō Taniguchi (You're Being Summoned, Azazel) designing the characters. Ken Naito (K: Return of Kings) serves as art director and Rei Egami (Your Name) is the director of photography.

Momo Asakura (Kaguya-sama: Love is War) stars as Iroha in Magia Record: Puella Magi Madoka Magica Side Story. She is joined by several other experienced and popular voice actors, including Sora Amamiya (Bungo Stray Dogs), Ayaka Ohashi (The God of High School), Ayane Sakura (My Hero Academia), Emiri Katō (Overlord) and Kana Hanazawa (Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba).

The final season of Magia Record: Puella Magi Madoka Magica Side Story isn't the only upcoming title in the Puella Magi Madoka Magica multimedia franchise. A new film, titled Gekijōban Mahō Shōjo Madoka Magica: Walpurgis no Kaiten (Turning the Tide of Walpurgis)was announced last year. It will be written by Gen Urobuchi (Fate/Zero) and directed by Akiyuki Shinbo (Pretty Boy Detective Club).
