Classic franchise Lupin the Third is set to release a sixth anime series titled Lupin the Third: Part VI this October!
The new series marks 50 years since the manga was first adapted into an anime. A teaser video has been released in addition to a poster illustrated by character designer Hirotaka Marufuji, both hinting at a dark side to the famously cheerful hero.
Eiji Suganama will direct with TMS Entertainment set to produce the series. Takahiro Ohkura will handle series composition, while Hirotaka Marufuji will provide character design and Yuji Ohno will compose the music.
Starting with Monkey Punch’s classic manga, Lupin the Third follows the titular gentleman thief and his many exploits across the globe. Its first TV anime series, Lupin the Third Part I, premiered in 1971. The franchise's numerous adaptations also include anime films, OVAs, and games.
Lupin the Third: Part 6 airs in October 2021.
