Funimation has announced that all 25 episodes of the second season of the popular isekai anime Log Horizon are now available to watch on its streaming service.
According to Funimation, fans can now enjoy "the entire development of Akiba and its residents, from navigating a new world in Season 1 to founding a democracy in Season 3!" The show is available in both subtitled and dubbed formats.
The anime is based on a original novel series of the same name by Mamare Touno and Kazuhiro Hara, which was first serialized online on the user-generated novel publishing website Shōsetsuka ni Narō in 2010 before it was acquired by Enterbrain, a division of Kadokawa Future Publishing, in 2011. The anime adaptation by Satelight (Lord Marksman and Vanadis, Somali and the Forest Spirit) premiered on Oct. 5, 2013, and the final episode of Season 3 aired on March 31. The story follows a group of gamers trapped in the world of the massively multiplayer online role-playing game (MMORPG) Elder Tale.
The creative team behind Log Horizon includes many experienced anime industry veterans. Shinji Ishihira (Edens Zero, Tsukimichi Moonlit Fantasy) directed the show with Toshizo Nemoto (Scarlet Nexus, Getbackers) overseeing the series composition, Yasuharu Takanashi (Naruto Shippuden: The Will of Fire, Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon Crystal) composing the music and Mariko Ito (Mobile Suit Gundam Seed Destiny, Vivid Strike!) designing the characters.
The cast includes multiple popular, experienced voice actors like Emiri Katō (The Seven Deadly Sins, Puella Magi Madoka Magica) as Akatsuki, Takuma Terashima (Haikyu!! To The Top, Record of Ragnarok) as Shiroe, Tomoaki Maeno (Platinum End, That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime) as Maotsugu, Mariya Ise (Demon Slayer: Kimestsu no Yaiba - The Movie: Mugen Train, Pokémon the Movie: Hoopa and the Clash of Ages) as Lenessia Erhart Cowen and Ayahi Takagaki (Tokyo Ghoul, Beyblade Burst God) as Henrietta.
Log Horizon isn't the only beloved anime to hit Funimation recently as the streaming service continues to expand its catalog of popular shows. Jujutsu Kaisen was recently added to the service, alongside over 1,000 hours of Spanish dubbed and subtitled anime and four classic Gundam titles.
Moreover, a wide variety of new shows are debuting on Funimation as part of the streaming service's fall 2021 anime season, including series like AMAIN Warrior at the Borderline, PuraOre! Pride of Orange, Muteking the Dancing Hero, Banished from the Hero's Party, I Decided to Live a Quiet Life in the Countryside, Mieruko-chan, Ranking of Kings, Irina: The Vampire Cosmonaut and The Vampire Dies in No Time.
