Let's Make a Mug, Too will make even more mugs with a second season, set to premiere this October.
A second season of the popular slice-of-life anime, entitled Let's Make a Mug Too: Second Kiln, was announced via the show's official Twitter. The second season was confirmed immediately after the conclusion of the first season, which aired from March 26 to June 21. The cast and crew of the first season will all return, including director Jun Kamiya and writer Naruhisa Arakawa, who previously worked on Kamen Rider and Mega Man NT Warrior. The series is animated by Nippon Animation, a studio that acclaimed director Hayao Miyazaki worked at before the formation of Studio Ghibli.

Let's Make a Mug, Too tells the story of Himeno Toyokawa, a student who joins her high school's pottery club and gradually learns to appreciate all the technique and skill that goes into crafting a well-made piece of pottery. The show specifically focuses on the traditional Mino Ware style of pottery that originates from the Gifu region of Japan. The anime's development was co-sponsored by the tourism board of Tajimi, a city located within Gifu, and each episode also features live-action segments that highlight the culture and history of the area.
Let's Make a Mug, Too started as an online manga that began publication in 2012. Naoko No Kobachi, a spinoff of the original series that focuses on video game-obsessed club member Naoko, was also released shortly after the original series was published. The original webcomic was adapted into a second manga series in 2021 by Osamu Kashiwara.
The first season of Let's Make a Mug, Too is available for streaming on Crunchyroll.
