Crunchyroll released a new look at Jujutsu Kaisen 0.
The streaming company will distribute the highly-anticipated prequel movie in the United States and Canada. Crunchyroll released several new stills from the movie, which depict the movie's new protagonist, Yuta Okkotsu, several of his new Jujutsu High classmates and their teacher, Satoru Gojo. The anime streamer also revealed a new trailer featuring footage that wasn't in previous previews of the movie, including new scenes of the villain Suguru Geto, as well as some shots that illustrate the power of Yuta's Curse, Rika.
Crunchyroll also announced the English dub cast for the movie, which includes:

Jujutsu Kaisen 0 is set one year before Yuji Itadori's first encounter with Megumi Fushiguro and the world of the sorcerers and Curses. The movie instead focuses on Yuta Okkotsu, a young man who once promised his childhood friend, Rika Orimoto, that he would marry her someday. However, Rika tragically passed away and her soul has been transformed into a powerful and dangerous Curse, which now torments Yuji by attacking anyone who gets close to him. Seeking a way to break Rika's Curse, Yuji is brought to Tokyo Jujutsu High, a school for sorcerers, but his training is interrupted when he is pulled into the conflict between his new teacher, Satoru Gojo, and the humanity-hating sorcerer Suguru Geto.
The anime movie premiered on Dec. 24 to the second-best opening weekend in Japanese film history and has managed to earn over 9.3 billion yen (about $81 million USD) within its first month of release. Despite being released in the last week of 2021, the movie is now the highest-grossing Japanese film of the year, surpassing Evangelion 3.0 + 1.0: Thrice Upon a Time, which earned 10 billion yen (approximately $89.5 million USD) during its entire theatrical run last summer.
Both the movie and the anime series are based on manga created by artist and writer Gege Akutami. The series has quickly become one of the most popular anime and manga franchises currently running, and managed to top the list of Japan's best-selling manga series in 2021, outperforming older series such as Demon Slayer and My Hero Academia. Both the anime and movie were produced by studio MAPPA (Attack on Titan: The Final Season) and directed by Sunghoo Park (God of High School). The TV anime concluded its first season in 2021, and recently confirmed that its second season is in production and is scheduled to premiere sometime in 2023.
Jujutsu Kaisen 0 will premiere in the United States and Canada on March 18. The manga is available in English in both print and digital formats from VIZ Media, while the anime series is available for streaming on Crunchyroll and Funimation.
