Episodes 13 through 24 of Jojo's Bizarre Adventure: Stone Ocean now have an official release window.
Netflix dropped a teaser trailer revealing the episodes will premiere globally in fall 2022, ahead of its broadcast in Japan. The trailer also showcases the over-the-top art style and brutal combat that the Jojo's Bizarre Adventure franchise is well-known for at this point.
Hirohiko Araki's Jojo's Bizarre Adventure manga series was originally published in Shueisha's Weekly Shōnen Jump between 1987 to 2004. In October 2012, animation studio David Production adapted the story into an anime series. Jojo's Bizarre Aventure: Stone Ocean is the fifth season of David Production's anime and the first 12 episodes premiered as the most-watched title on Netflix amongst Japanese viewers and sixth most-watched amongst viewers in the United States.
Adapting the story arc of the same name from the manga, Jojo's Bizarre Adventure: Stone Ocean follows Jolyne Kujo, daughter of Jotaro Kujo, who is sentenced to a 15-year prison sentence after being involved in a car accident and framed for murder. When she discovers a disciple of Dio is behind the frame-job, she endeavors to escape and clear her name.
Jojo's Bizarre Adventure: Stone Ocean is directed by Kenichi Suzuki (Cells at Work!) and Toshiyuki Kato (Getbackers) with Yasuko Kobayashi (Attack on Titan) supervising the series composition, Yūgo Kanno (Psycho-Pass) composing the music, Kiyoshi Hirose (Jojo's Bizarre Adventure: Diamond is Unbreakable) handling the editing and Masanori Shino (Black Lagoon) designing the characters. Keito Watanabe (One Piece: Heart of Gold) serves as art director and Yoshikazu Iwanami (Sword Art Online) as sound director.
Fairouz Ai (Yashahime: Princess Half-Demon) stars as Jolyne in Jojo's Bizarre Adventure: Stone Ocean. The anime's cast includes several other popular and experienced voice actors like Tomokazu Seki (Evangelion: 3.0+1.0: Thrice Upon A Time), Atsumi Tanezaki (My Dress-Up Darling), Daisuke Ono (The Seven Deadly Sins: Revival of The Commandments) and Mutsumi Tamura (Is It Wrong to Try to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon?).
The new episodes of Jojo's Bizarre Adventure: Stone Ocean aren't the only things fans of the franchise have to be excited about. It was recently confirmed that the next chapter of Araki's Thus Spoke Rohan Kishibe, the longest-running spinoff series of Jojo's Bizarre Adventure to date, will kick off a new, multi-part story. Moreover, Viz Media revealed that it will release the first two volumes of the spinoff in English for the first time ever this fall.
Jojo's Bizarre Adventure: Stone Ocean is available to stream on Netflix.
