Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure Livestream to Reveal New Stone Ocean Details

The next Warner Bros. Japan Anime livestream is promising to have more details about the next season of the Jojo's Bizarre Adventure anime, which will adapt the Stone Ocean arc of the series.

The Stone Ocean season of Jojo's Bizarre Adventure was first announced by series creator Hirohiko Araki during a livestream in April. A tweet from the official Jojo's anime account states that new details about the show, as well as a special appearance from voice actor Fairouz Ai, will be featured in the next Warner Bros. Japan livestream. Ai will play the role of Jolene Cujoh, the brand new protagonist of the Stone Ocean arc and the daughter of Stardust Crusader's fan-favorite hero Jotaro Kujo. No further details, including a premiere date, have been released for the highly anticipated fifth season of the anime. The livestream will air on the Warner Bros. Japan's official YouTube channel on Aug. 8 at 12:00P.M. JST and will be subtitled in English.

The Stone Ocean is the sixth of the currently eight parts of the on-going Jojo's Bizarre Adventure manga. Araki's opus began more than three decades ago in 1987 in Weekly Shonen Jump, before moving to Ultra Jump magazine in 2005. The 130-volume long story tells the story of the Joestar family, beginning with Jonathan Joestar in the late 1800s, and continuing into the present day. While the series tells one continuous story, each arc or part of the saga features a different protagonist from within the Joestar's sprawling family tree and is set in a different era. The Stone Ocean arc takes place in Florida during 2011 and is set ten years after the events of the Golden Wind arc, which took place in Italy.

The current Jojo's Bizarre Adventure anime is available for streaming on Hulu, Netflix and Crunchyroll. The first five parts of the manga have been released and localized in English by VIZ Media.
