The English dub of The World Ends With You: The Animation premiered on Sept. 17, with a cast that includes several veteran voice actors.
According to an update from Funimation, Ben Balmaceda (Attack on Titan, A Certain Scientific Railgun) voices protagonist Neku Sakuraba. He is joined by Morgan Lauré (Sleepy Princess in the Demon Castle, Fire Force), Dani Chambers (Attack on Titan, Log Horizon), Drew Breedlove (Cautious Hero: The Hero Is Overpowered but Overly Cautious), Anthony DiMascio (No Guns Life, A Certain Scientific Accelerator) and Brandon Potter (That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime, My Hero Academia).
Based on the popular and critically acclaimed action role-playing game The World Ends With You, the anime adaptation was produced by Square Enix, DOMERICA and Shin-Ei Animation. It first aired during 2021's spring anime season and ran for 12 episodes. The series was directed by Kazuya Ichikawa (Outburst Dreamer Boys) and written by Midori Gotō (You're Being Summoned, Azazel). The story follows Neku and his allies as they are forced to partake in the Reapers' Game, a week-long competition that determines their fate.
Other anime series that will be premiering on Funimation soon include Mieruko-chan, Banished from the Hero's Party and Ranking of Kings.
The video game version of The World Ends With You is available on Nintendo DS with available ports for mobile devices and Nintendo Switch.
