An original anime from Studio VOLN (I Want to Eat Your Pancreas, Ushio and Tora), Back Arrow follows the story of its titular protagonist Back Arrow, a man with no memories except that he came from beyond the mystical and worshiped wall that protects the world of Lingalind. Back Arrow's unexpected arrival shatters the wall-dwellers' long-held belief that there is no world beyond the wall and his continued presence could mean the start of violent conflicts between the nations of Lingalind.
Back Arrow unites several well-known and critically praised talents within the anime industry. Current Back Arrow director Gorou Taniguchi has directed classic animes like Code Geass and all of its various spin-offs, Gun x Sword and Planetes. Joining him is Kazuki Nakashima, the writer behind Studio Trigger hits Kill la Kill, BNA: Brand New Animal, Promare and Gurren Lagann. In addition to the series composition, Nakashima is also credited with writing each Back Arrow episode. Macross' Hidetaka Tenjin is also involved behind the scenes, designing all of the mechas in the anime.
