A new Fate/Grand Order spinoff will head up Kodansha's digital manga lineup this July.
In the latest episode of Kodansha Live, the publisher announced the digital debuts of several new manga series. This list of manga includes That's My Atypical Girl, In the Clear Moonlit Dusk, Saving Sweets for After-Hours, My Darling Next Door, ONIMAI: I'm Now Your Sister! and the latest spin-off of Fate/Grand Order. These manga will be released on the digital vendors Bookwalker, comiXology, Google Play, Kindle, Nook and izneo throughout July.
The latest manga in the Fate series, Fate/Grand Order -Epic of Remnant- Pseudo-Singularity III: The Stage of Carnage, Shimousa – Seven Duels of Swordmasters, will offer fans of the series a new side story full of "twists and turns." TYPE-MOON, the gaming studio responsible for the Fate visual novels, is writing the story, and Rei Wataru (Assassin of Crimson, BB.Hell) is illustrating the manga. Little is currently known about the manga, as only two volumes have been published thus far. Fate/Grand Order -Epic of Remnant will have its digital debut on July 6.
Also releasing on July 6 is the slice-of-life drama That's My Atypical Girl. Written by Souhachi Hagimoto and illustrated by Renji Morita, the series follows Yokoi Taku, an introverted manga artist who struggles to find a market for his original works. One day, a girl named Saitou Megumi arrives at his home, claiming to be a fan of his, and she decides to move in with him. As the two settle into living together, they come to understand each other's peculiarities and must learn to navigate a world that does not understand them. The series finished its serialization earlier this year, and all 12 volumes will become available digitally on July 6.
In the Clear Moonlit Dusk is a shoujo manga written by Mika Yamamori (The Daytime Shooting Star, Tsubaki-chou Lonely Planet) about Yoi Takiguchi, a tomboy with a naturally deep voice and handsome face who is often mistaken for a boy by her classmates. Nicknamed "Prince," Yoi is only popular with her female classmates, until she meets the school's other "prince" Kohaku Ichimura, a careless and laid-back boy who compliments her beauty. Ichimura is the first boy to see her as a girl, and Yoi finds herself unwittingly falling for this other prince. Currently, only one volume of the series has been published, and Kodansha will release that first volume to digital vendors on July 13.
Freelance illustrator Kanae Sato's debut manga Saving Sweets for After-Hours follows career woman Reika, who has never had a boyfriend due to her intimidating, model-esque appearance and intelligence. After years of only attracting men seeking a S&M mistress, Reika's first chance at love arrives when she meets her younger coworker Hasegawa. Besides working together at Reika's sweets company, the two discover they have a lot in common, including a few personal secrets. The series' first and currently only volume will debut digitally on July 20.
Another shoujo manga, My Darling Next Door is a new series by Rukana (Torokeru Tsumugi-chan) about high school girl Ririka, who has never had an interest in dating and romance until she finds herself in a compromising situation with her older, attractive next door neighbor. There are currently two published volumes, and the manga will be released on Kodansha's associated digital vendors on July 27.
Lastly, Kodansha will also release ONIMAI: I'm Now Your Sister! on July 27. Written by Nekotofu, the series tells the comedic story of Mahiro Oyama, an erotic-game enthusiast and shut-in who wakes up and finds himself in a woman's body. Mahiro discovers that Mihari, his mad scientist little sister, has made him into a test subject for her latest experiment and wants to study his new body, despite his wishes to go back to his old life. The series has currently been compiled into two volumes.
