Marvel Comics provided CBR with an exclusive first look at Black Panther #7, by writer John Ridley, artist Stefano Landini and colorist Matt Milla. The preview shows new Wakandan hero Tosin Oduye in action.
Tosin was introduced in Black Panther #3 in a back-up story. In that story, he expressed his belief that Wakanada is socially isolated, and its people starting to believe themselves superior to others. He then critiqued the country for its greed, specifically regarding Vibranium. The character hails from a part of Wakanda that doesn't embrace technology in the same way as the rest of the country, and he remains skeptical about those running the nation. Tosin has powers due to Vibranium tattoos and, in his first appearance, used them to protect the Prime Minister of Wakanda, Folasade. That back-up story skipped slightly ahead of the main Black Panther storyline, teasing a new civil war in Wakanda, this time between the Hatut Zeraze and government forces.
Recent issues of Black Panther have been building to that civil war. At the start of the arc, some of T'Challa's sleeper abroad agents meant to secure Wakanda's future were attacked. As the arc went on, T'Challa, without his Black Panther suit, found himself accused of murdering one of his own sleeper agents and thus on the run from the Hatut Zeraze. His sister, Shuri, and one of the sleeper agents, Omolola, found T'Challa after his ex-wife, Storm, helped him to defeat some Hatut Zeraze agents.
