All three of the Rebuild of Evangelion films will be available to stream for free on YouTube, per the wishes of series creator Hideaki Anno.
Anno made the announcement with a handwritten letter which he posted to Twitter, explaining his decision. A translation of the note was provided by SoraNews24.

“To all those suffering from the novel coronavirus (COVID-19), my heart goes out to you. I would also like to offer my gratitude and respect to medical personnel and all others working towards relief efforts." Anno wrote. "I also apologize for this unprecedented situation delaying the release of the new Evangelion movie, which we have kept fans waiting for for nearly eight years. This is a difficult time all over the world, but with an indomitable spirit, I, and all of us, will keep doing our best. Thank you.”
Anno also used the #StayHome hashtag to encourage Evangelion fans to stay at home and curb the spread of the coronavirus.
First created by Anno in 1995, Neon Genesis Evangelion is widely regarded as one of the most influential anime series ever created, spawning several feature films and an entire franchise. A new film, Evangelion: 3.0+1.0: Thrice Upon a Time, was scheduled to be released but was put on hold due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
