EDC Las Vegas 2020 has officially rescheduled to 2021. The news update regarding one of the world’s largest EDM festivals expectedly arrived because of the increasing U.S. COVID-19 cases. EDC, officially known as Electric Daisy Carnival, initially planned to host its 2020 festival on the weekend of May 15-17. In addition, EDC Las Vegas 2020 was supposed to be the 10th Anniversary edition of the festival being held at its flagship location, the Las Vegas Motor Speedway. Before rescheduling to 2021, Insomniac Events originally rescheduled EDC Las Vegas 2020 to the weekend of October 2-4.
EDC Las Vegas Rescheduled (Again)
The ongoing COVID-19 health concerns have led EDC Las Vegas 2020 to reschedule the festival to 2021. The new dates for next year’s festival are May 21-23, 2021. Insomniac CEO Pasquale Rotella announced the news on August 2 via Instagram (see Instagram post below). In the post, Pasquale Rotella mentioned that he had talked with biopharmaceutical companies about diagnostic tests for COVID-19. Furthermore, he also communicated with Nevada state officials before making his official announcement.

For people who purchased passes for this year’s postponed festival, including Camp EDC and shuttles, there are good news. In fact, their passes are honored for the 2021 festival and the passes will automatically transfer over. Original lineup for this year’s festival
Before the pandemic affected everyone, especially the music industry, EDC Las Vegas 2020 boasted a fantastic lineup. Prominent electronic music superstars planned for the 2020 festival included Zedd, Fisher, Tiësto and R3HAB. Before the festival originally rescheduled to October, some artists had already pulled out such as David Guetta, Timmy Trumpet, Vini Vici and Martin Garrix. Likewise, the 2021 festival will be EDC’s 25th Anniversary celebration. Hopefully by May 2021, things will get better again and the pandemic will become a thing of the past.
