Dragon Ball has introduced multiple godly beings, including the beloved Lord Beerus and his Guide Angel Whis, since its return to the limelight. While the God of Destruction seems to have taken a liking to the Z fighters and the dishes Earth has to offer, his relationships with others could see some improvement -- especially since his fellow Gods of Destruction cannot seem to tolerate him. This rouses the question: Why exactly does Lord Beerus not get along with his peers?
Lord Beerus can be rather lazy and playful, often disregarding others to appease his desires. He displays his dominance at every opportunity he gets and is easily angered. He once ordered Whis to cut Oracle Fish's feeding to twice a day instead of thrice when the poor creature couldn't remember the name of a warrior from decades ago. Given that he's a God of Destruction, he views the lives of billions of people as close to nothing, and he has even referred to the Z fighters as pawns. Lord Beerus' arrogance holds strong when he faces other Gods of Destruction as well.
While Lord Beerus was introduced to the series long ago, the other Gods of Destruction, except Champa, debuted in Chapter 28 "The Gods of Destruction From All 12 Universes." The sudden summons caught the Gods of Destruction in surprise, especially after seeing Goku with the two Lords of Everything. Champa was quick on the uptake, and Quitela immediately deduced Beerus' participation in their current debacle. Clearly, there was a long-running history between them, and it wasn't the first time Lord Beerus caused a scene.
When Zeno tasked the Gods of Destruction to fight as an example for the Tournament of Power, Goku cheered Beerus on, causing the others to channel their animosity towards him. Whis then explained to Shin and Goku that the hatred originates from way back when Zeno came up with an all-universes, hide-and-seek tournament. Beerus, being a sleepyhead, fell asleep in hiding. The tournament had to be canceled as he failed to come out 50 years after the game began. Zeno became furious, and the other Gods of Destruction had to appease the Lord of Everything.
Lord Beerus' sleeping incident plays a major part in the other Gods of Destruction's hatred towards him, but there are also personal reasons behind their rocky relationship. Beerus' overall power and technique variety allow him to stand above the others. This also positions him to be an object of the others' jealousy. Quitela, for one, is insecure of Beerus' strength to the point of bragging over an arm wrestling win. It is also not surprising that his naughty demeanor caused him to have a rift with one or two other Gods of Destruction. Champa, for one, has had a beef with Beerus since time immemorial.
Fans of Dragon Ball are long used to Lord Beerus' personality, with some even finding it adorable. Unfortunately, the same can't be said of the other Gods of Destruction, especially since causing trouble seems to be embedded in Lord Beerus' genes.
