Several thousand years in the future, Dr. Stone's Stone Wars are about to begin. Luckily, those of us in the present day won't have to be petrified and reawakened to join in: the arc is set to begin January 14 on Crunchyroll.
As well as announcing the premiere date, the streaming service has also dropped a new trailer for Season 2 of the shonen series, which not only builds up anticipation for Senku and Tsukasa's big clash but also reveals some new additions to the anime's cast.
Season 1 ended on the verge of Tsukasa's Empire of Might and Senku's Kingdom of Science's war, which will be the main focus of Season 2. As Senku orders his people to embark on the war, Tsukasa plans a full-scale invasion. Joining the two enemies are the three new characters spotlighted in the latest trailer: Nikki, a "rugged Judo practitioner"; Saionji Ukyo "an archer with overpowered hearing" and Uei Yo, "the glum nightstick wielder."
The trio, alongside the rest of the cast, is also featured on a new key visual for the season.
In October, Crunchyroll released a special bonus episode of Dr. Stone from the Jump Special Anime Festa in Japan to its YouTube channel. The episode, entitled "Stone Wars Eve of the Battle Special Feature," recapped the events of Season 1 and gave viewers a sneak peek at the first episode of Season 2.
Season 2 of Dr. Stone will premiere January 14, 2021 on Crunchyroll.
