Demon Slayer fans can now recreate one of the series' most memorable battles with an official replica of Tengen Uzui's dual Nichirin cleavers.
The new prop swords comes courtesy of collectible manufacturer Tamashii Nations, a division of Bandai. The new replicas are sold as a pair of 1.1 meter long blades that are connected with a chain, which adds another .7 meters to their total length. The accurately modeled orange and black tinted blades also house some electronic components that play sound effects and a selection of the Sound Hashira's most iconic lines from the anime series. The swords can also play the TV cut of "Zankyo Sanka," the Entertainment District arc's theme song. The unique swords are currently available for pre-order from the Premium Bandai web store for 26, 400 yen (about $230 USD).
The Sound Hashira is the fourth member of the Demon Slayer Corps whose swords have been replicated. In 2021, Tamashii Nations also produced replicas of Tanjiro's unique black katana, Zenitsu's lightning-banded blade, Inosuke's dual serrated swords, and the Flame Hashira's unique Nichirin blade. Like the new replicas of Tengen's weapons, those collectibles also featured show-accurate molding and the ability to play sound effects and clips from the anime.
Fans looking for a demonstration of how to effectively use the Sound Hashira's weapons should look to Episode 10 of the Entertainment District arc, which premiered on Feb. 6 and featured the climax of the battle against the Upper Rank demons Daki and Gyutaro. The episode has been praised for its lavish animation and frenetic action choreography, with many fans and critics calling it the best episode of the series so far.
The Entertainment District arc and the anime series' second season is set to an end with the release of its next episode on Feb. 13. The final episode of the arc will feature an extended run-time of 45 minutes. The series' producers have yet to announce how and when the series will continue; while there have been rumors about a new movie or the immediate announcement of a third season for the show, no information has been released so far about the animated adaptation of the series' next arc, Swordsmith Village.
