David Guetta is another artist breaking into the realm of electronic dance music. After producing and DJing on a number of well known radio stations in the U.K., Guetta decided to create his own label, which he calls ” RAD” (pronounced “ray da”). The first release from RAD was “I’m Lost”, a single which became an instant hit in the U.K. This major label placement also led to the formation of a worldwide clubbing festival called “EDC”. Since then, David has released a number of high profile tracks, most notably “Come Together” and “Higgs Boson” from his latest album “Driftwood”.
David Guetta began making the name behind his musical vision when he was a teenager, skipping school and not sharing anything with his classmates. It wasn’t until he started university that he realized how much he enjoyed making electronic dance music. After graduating, he decided to pursue a degree in electronics so that he could one day join the ranks of DJs that were quickly climbing the ladder of success in the UK’s clubbing scene. A few years later, and despite his young age, David was performing at massive parties across the UK, as well as opening for some of the biggest names in the music industry.
Now, nearly five years on from his initial electro-meld, David has firmly established himself as one of the mainstays in the electronic dance music scene. Having worked with some of the biggest producers in the world, such as Armin and Paul McCartney, Guetta has also had the opportunity to work with some top DJ’s in the U.K. His most recent album ” Worlds Collide” with Krewella featured Avicenna, Mano da Silva and Dot Da Genius. These collaborations further solidify the belief that David has what it takes to push the boundaries of the electronic dance music industry.
So who exactly is behind the musical wizardry known as David Guetta? The name Guetta is not a brand new one, having been derived from the first studio album by the band named “Guetta”. In 2021, the original band decided to leave their label to form their own and began playing live to huge audiences around the UK and Europe. From there, the band gradually gained a following, with many new artists joining their ranks including Martin Simon, Disclosure, Skream and Chromeo. While the band’s self-titled debut album didn’t do too much to establish them as a force in the electronic scene, their second album “Look” helped them break into the Top Ten and went straight to number one in the U.K.
Now, David has released his own dance music, which he calls “Hollywood”. Although this isn’t a direct representation of the producer’s true skill, it is still a very good listen, highlighted by memorable guest spots from Disclosure, Rihanna and Skream. In my opinion, if you’re looking for a great producer to bring your dance floor to a real party atmosphere, then Hallelujah Chorus is what you need. This mix of hip hop and electronic dance music is perfect for those nights when you want to get everyone on the dancefloor. It has a hypnotic feel and extremely smooth vocals, perfect for when you want everyone to be dancing to your tunes.
Another track that impresses me with David Guetta’s electronic dance music is “Choir Of Angels”. A piano ballad, the music is soft and slow and doesn’t have much melody. However, it is a wonderfully romantic song that will bring a tear to anyone’s eye and will make you want to dance. In my opinion, this is one of the best songs that has ever been made by the producer. The piano notes are played at a slow pace, whilst the lyrics are just as sad and tender as they can get, but with a more memorable feel to them.
If you want to dance to electronic dance music that will really get your heart pumping then you need to hear what David Guetta has to offer. I am not sure whether he is the best producer in the world, but he certainly is one of the most interesting and dynamic when it comes to producing electronic dance music. He knows how to make a track sound good on a radio and also how to make a track that will blow your mind when played at clubs. His production style is something to be experienced to be believed, and you will not regret purchasing this album.
As an electronic dance music fan, there is very few producers out there that I would recommend buying this collection of music. David Guetta has given us a great album to listen to and has created a new sound for electronic dance music that is definitely unique. Most artists don’t have the technical skills needed to create such amazing tracks, and yet Guetta has managed to create something that still sounds modern and catchy. If you love electronic dance music, then you will love this album. It is definitely worth the money spent.
