HYBE and WEBTOON's recent collaboration brings ENHYPEN to the popular Korean platform in the highly-anticipated series — Dark Moon: The Blood Altar. Premiering on January 15th surrounded by the simultaneous releases of BTS' 7Fates: Chakho and TXT's The Star Seekers, ENHYPEN's new series stars a girl named Sooha who enrolls in Decelis Academy and meets seven vampires who are mysteriously drawn to her.
Here's an ultimate guide to everything fans should know about ENHYPEN in Dark Moon: The Blood Altar and each vampire character they represent.
What Is Dark Moon: The Blood Altar About?
In a world consisting of both good and bad vampires, Dark Moon: The Blood Altar stars a high school girl named Sooha who suffered throughout her childhood, constantly mistaken for a vampire because of her superhuman strength. Her one and only friend was a boy named Chris who was killed by an unknown vampire -- and the villagers accused Sooha of being the murderer.
After years of running from false accusations, Sooha enrolls in Decelis Academy in Riverfield because of its strict policy against vampires. However, the mysterious night school is full of secrets as unexplained occurrences continue to happen in the nearby town. When Sooha meets seven strange classmates who are mysteriously drawn to her, the boys' forgotten pasts slowly come to light to shake things up.
Who Is Heeseung's Character?
As ENHYPEN's oldest member, Heeseung is a main vocalist and lead dancer in the real-life K-pop group. In Dark Moon: The Blood Altar, Heeseung plays Heli, the first character to appear in the series and meet Sooha. Heli is compassionate and patient, which instantly draws Sooha to him in hopes of being his friend. When he first meets the female protagonist, Heli experiences a sense of longing he can't exactly pinpoint. He possesses the special ability of telepathy, which allows him to communicate with his brothers without physically talking to them.
Who Is Jay's Character?
While ENHYPEN famously doesn't have official positions among its members, Jay is often seen as a main rapper in the real-life group. In Dark Moon: The Blood Altar, Jay plays a cold and distant student named Jaan. He often comes across as blunt and indifferent, making it hard for others to get close to the standoffish vampire. Despite his often emotionless exterior, Jaan actually cares deeply for his brothers. Since he's considerate and thoughtful deep down, it takes more effort for him to show his true feelings.
Who Is Jake's Character?
Similar to Jay, Jake is also known for his superior rapping abilities in ENHYPEN. Jake plays the energetic and fiery Jino in Dark Moon: The Blood Altar. Given his upbeat and extroverted personality, Jino often wears his heart on his sleeve and openly expresses what he's thinking.
He doesn't really care about the difference between humans and vampires, treating them all equally. This sentiment allows him to make friends with lots of people far and wide, making him incredibly popular at school. To match his fiery personality, Jino possesses a special ability that allows him to control fire, which he often uses to save his brothers when they're in trouble.
Who Is Sunghoon's Character?
Widely considered to be the visual of ENHYPEN, Sunghoon plays Solon, who appears to be the most distrusting and hostile character at the start of Dark Moon: The Blood Altar. While Solon is calm and confident by nature, he can come across as arrogant and downright mean. Despite his intelligence, he feels inferior to his brothers and believes he doesn't completely fit in. Under his cool exterior, Solon is hiding a huge secret he goes to great lengths to conceal.
Who Is Sunoo's Character?
In the real-life ENHYPHEN, Sunoo is a main vocalist. In Dark Moon: The Blood Altar, however, Sunoo plays the childish and troublemaking Shion. While Jino is talkative, Shion has the most friends at school of the seven brothers. He's straightforward and honest about his feelings, even if it might make others uncomfortable at times. Shion doesn't listen to his brothers and always does what he wants, like befriending Sooha despite Solon's passionate and vocal objections.
Who Is Jungwon's Character?
As the real-life leader of ENHYPEN, Jungwon is a main vocalist and lead dancer. Jungwon's character in Dark Moon: The Blood Altar is Jakah, the smartest of the seven vampire brothers. Given his superior intellect and cleverness, he can think quickly on his feet to decide the best course of action. Jakah is also known for his rational decision-making, which helps him protect his and his brothers' secret identities. Despite how much the others rely on him, Jakah believes he needs to do more to protect them.
Who Is Niki's Character?
As a main vocalist and visual, Niki is the youngest member (or maknae) of ENHYPEN. Likewise, Niki's Dark Moon: The Blood Altar character Noa is the youngest among the seven fictional boys. Noa arguably possesses the greatest potential and special ability out of the vampires. With the power to control darkness, he wants to be useful to his brothers and be as cool as them. However, his desire to keep up with the others can often make him hasty or clumsy in his attempts.
