Crunchyroll's full spring slate of English anime dubs has been released. The line-up is headlined by one of the anime brand's newest Originals, Tower of God, co-produced with WEBTOON and based on the popular manhwa series of the same name. The first episode will air on May 13 with new episodes to follow weekly, each Wednesday.
Joshua Lopez, Crunchyroll's Director of Production, praised the production team for adapting to remote-working, ensuring that their work can continue safely and effectively. "We produced about half of Tower of God in studio before shifting to a fully-remote workflow," he said in a statement. "We also recorded the entirety of the current episodes of The 8th Son? Are You Kidding Me? and My Next Life as a Villainess: All Routes Lead to Doom! with a remote cast."
Tower of God's dub cast is led by Johnny Yong Bosch in the role of Bam, who anime fans will recognize as the English-language voice of Ichigo Kurasaki (Bleach), Lelouch Lamparge (Code Geass) and Kaneda (Akira), among many others. The rest of the dub cast, as well as some headshots, can be found below.
Valerie Rose Lohman as Rachel (Jess Blazkowicz in Wolfenstein: Youngblood, Edith Finch in What Remains of Edith Finch), Christopher Swindle as Headon (Jack Hanma in Baki, various voices in Boruto: Naruto Next Generations, and Arthur Rimbaud in Bungo Stray Dogs), Chris Hackney as Khun Aguero Agnis (Dimitri in Fire Emblem: Three Houses), Matthew David Rudd as Rak Wraithraiser (Baal in Welcome to Demon School! Iruma-Kun and Leaky Eye Lica in JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: Golden Wind), Kira Buckland as Yuri Jahad (Reimi Sugimoto in JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: Diamond is Unbreakable, and 2B in NieR: Automata, among many others), Kyle McCarley as Evan Edroch (Narancia Ghirga in JoJo's Bizarre Adventure Golden Wind and 9S in NieR: Automata), Cherami Leigh as Anaak Jahad (Sailor Venus in Sailor Moon, and Asuna Yuuki in Sword Art Online, among many others), Nicolas Roye as Hatz (Octane in Apex Legends), Scott Whyte as Shibisu (Known for his work in various video games including Death Stranding, Star Wars: The Old Republic - Onslaught and Transformers: War for Cybertron), Jeannie Tirado as Endorsi Jahad (Norman in The Promised Neverland and Fana from Black Clover), Trent Mills as Lero-Ro (LA-based comedian, actor, singer, Upright Citizens Brigade), Lucien Dodge as Hansung Yu (Waver Velvet in Fate/Zero) and Cristina Vee as Serena (Darkness in Konosuba, Killua Zoldyck in Hunter x Hunter, Homura Akemi in Puella Magi Madoka Magica, and Sailor Mars in Sailor Moon).
The spring slate also includes the continuation of the first Crunchyroll Original, In/Spectre, which premiered during the winter season. Production of the dubbed version of the supernatural mystery series was put on hold due to coronavirus (COVID-19), but Episode 8 is now set to air on May 23, with new episodes to follow thereafter.
In/Spectre isn't the only anime to have been affected by the measures introduced around the world to curb the spread of the pandemic. After a delay, Somali and the Forest Spirit will resume with Episodes 9 to 12 on May 7; Science Fell in Love, So I Tried to Prove It will follow with Episodes 9 through 12 as well on May 8, and Welcome To Demon School! Iruma-kun will return with Episode 16 on May 16, with new episodes airing weekly thereafter.
Joining Tower of God are two other newcomers. The 8th Son? Are You Kidding Me will begin airing dubbed episodes from May 13 with new episodes following every Wednesday, and My Next Life as a Villainess: All Routes Lead to Doom! will begin its dub run on May 16 with new episodes dropping every Saturday. Crunchyroll will announce the full cast for both series on its social media channels later this week.
