Crunchyroll has debuted a new YouTube channel that has been made exclusively for mobile-friendly viewing.
The channel, entitled Crunchyroll Extras, features exclusive behind-the-scenes footage, studio tours, interviews, video essays and unique content such as cooking demos, speed drawing, and Crunchyroll explains. Furthermore, Crunchyroll is celebrating the release of the channel with a slew of One Piece content, which also commemorates the birthday of the show's protagonist, Monkey D. Luffy. Interested fans can immediately watch 10 videos at launch, with new ones being released every day this month.
Crunchyroll Extras will also be providing exclusive reaction videos from famous personalities, including Junji Ito (horror mangaka), Setsuo Ito (Japanese voice actor for Mob from Mob Psycho 100) and Eric Stuart (English voice actor for Seto Kaiba from Yu-Gi-Oh!).
This new channel joins Crunchyroll's additional U.S.-based YouTube channels, Crunchyroll Main and Crunchyroll Collection. Having accumulated more than 20 million views across Facebook, Instagram and Twitter in the U.S. across Q1 of 2020, this content is finally coming to YouTube for the first time with Crunchyroll Extras. Since its initial release, Crunchyroll has accumulated more than 1.1 billion views and 1.3 million subscribers.
