Horror anime Chainsaw Man has unleashed a new key visual!
It was also revealed that the main cast will be announced at a special program, which will be livestreamed from 8:00 to 9:00 pm on August 5, 2022 (JST). In addition to the cast members, Shihei Lin, the original manga's editor, and MAPPA producer Keisuke Seshita will appear on the program. The livestream will be available at MAPPA's YouTube channel in addition to Abema and Niconico Live.
Based on Tatsuki Fujimoto's horror manga, Chainsaw Man follows a young man named Denji who becomes a devil hunter in order to pay off his dead father's debts to the yakuza. After falling victim to a plot by the yakuza, he merges with his demon dog Pochita to become Chainsaw Man.
The manga was originally serialized from 2018 to 2020, with Part 2 also coming out in July 2022. Fujimoto's other recent projects include one-shot manga titles Look Back, Goodbye, Eri and Futsu ni Kiitekure.
Chainsaw Man will premiere sometime during 2022.
