Earlier this year, rising musician camoufly dropped a more light-hearted and feel good project titled Apotheosis. Continuing his story, the mysterious/anonymous artist has released his new project, The Giant. The project’s artwork, title, and music all come together to represent the battle we fight every day. The vibe of the project is bouncy, atmospheric hip-hop infused chill trap that any fan of Odesza will highly resonate with. The 5-track-EP seamlessly blends all sorts of sounds together, and while he he has not been able to travel much as of late camoufly draws inspiration from sounds all over the world and incorporates them in his music. Through the combination of these worldly influences, the anonymous artist is able to design his own universe through auditory paintings of celestial soundscapes. Check out a quote from camoufly on The Giant below and stream the EP below that!
“This EP is a result of me growing up, artistically and personally, realizing all these things, bringing back all the emotions that I could into songs. While ‘Apotheosis’ felt like a big energy rush, ‘The Giant’ sounds to me more like a little big adventure all condensed in five tracks, filled with happiness, sorrow, and hope. To me, “The Giant” is something that we have to fight towards every day. It’s like when you think you got over something, you think you did something good and you can rest, but suddenly you’ve got to deal with something else. “The Giant” is our life’s pains and difficulties. Sometimes I feel that some things in life are too big to fight. Maybe someone else experiences the same thing as I do. Over the years I have had to deal with a lot of troubles in my private life, so this episode means a lot to me. It gives me a lot of hope and makes me think that we have to be proud of what we do, of our everyday’s achievements. At some point we have to believe in ourselves like people believe in a God, putting our life in our own hands, thinking that we have the power to get over things even if they get tougher than they ever were. And just when we have dealt with our lowest lows, then we can appreciate our highest highs. – camoufly
