Boombox Cartel has quickly built a name for themselves as a diverse up-and-coming duo of Mexico-born artists. Dubstep producing Americo Garcia together with electro house dj’ing Jorge Medina started out as two Facebook friends. First they began talking about music and production. Later they became music school classmates who decided to make tracks together under the name Boombox Cartel in late 2012. Sooner or later amazing producers like “NGHTMRE,” “Jackal,” and “Bro Safari” collaborated with the talented duo. Together they have made single hits like “B2U,” “Aftershock,” and “Supernatural” along the way.
Boombox Cartel’s vibrant sound first started out as tracks made just for the music. Once those tracks became acknowledged by producers as a hit they began playing at popular annual festivals. Including lineups for the Midwest’s Chicago, Ill. based Spring Awakening, Basscon Massive held by Bassrush (Insomniac’s bass focusing subbrand) and Insomniac’s second biggest EDC, EDC Mexico.
By Spring 2017, the fiery “Cartel” drops as a beautiful body of work; this album tells a story of the rollercoaster emotion of success in the industry and Boombox Cartel has definitely made it. Now that the EP is finally released everyone is tasting their filthy drops and talented collaborations.
Boombox Cartel has barely started their 2017 with high powered performances at Insomniac’s very first medieval Middlelands and the 21st anniversary year for EDC Las Vegas. Now that they’ve announced their Asia Summer Tour the tour is traveling through three countries with performances in China and Indonesia. With this in mind you can catch their unique sound beginning July 28 in Manila, Philippines!
